    Abstract: A method for producing or neutralising scents by means of fragrances being contained in a liquid medium substantially comprising three steps. Collision of fluids containing fragrances under high pressure from a suitable nozzle into a downstream reactor thereby producing an aerosol cloud. Providing means of transporting the aerosol cloud out of the reactor area and transporting the aerosol out of the reactor area. According to a preferred embodiment of said method energy is provided in the downstream reactor so that a further diffusion of the aerosol occurs after leaving the nozzle. Moreover: A suitable device for performing said method which particularly comprises a micro electromechanical element for supplying the fragrances in the reactor, and which comprises furthermore said means of transporting the aerosol out of the reactor; and according to a preferred embodiment said device further comprises a suitable power generator for providing the power for the retreatment of the fragrances in the reactor area.

    Abstract: An air assisted spray nozzle assembly is provided. The spray nozzle including a nozzle body having a liquid inlet passage and a gas inlet passage. The air cap is disposed at a downstream end of the nozzle body and includes an outer body member having an inner bore extending from an open upstream end thereof. A fluid directing insert is inserted in the inner bore of the outer body member. The fluid directing insert has a fluid directing passage extending therethrough which communicates with the liquid inlet passage in the nozzle body. An impingement element is also inserted into the inner bore of the outer body member downstream from the fluid directing insert. The impingement element defines an impingement surface spaced from and opposing the fluid directing passage for deflecting a stream of liquid impinging thereon in a radially outward direction. The outer body of the air cap also includes a plurality of longitudinally extending discharge passages arranged in surrounding relation to and extending downstream from the impingement surface. Each discharge passage has a discharge orifice therein for directing fluid in an inward flow path such that the flow paths produced by the respective discharge orifices impinge on one another and atomize the liquid.

    Abstract: In an external mix, plural component application system, a first component material, such as a resin, is formed into a plurality of small, spaced streams arranged in a two-dimensional array and projected generally at a substrate or article. A second component material, such as a catalyst, is formed into two air-entrained sprays of second component material and directed at the plurality of small, spaced streams of the first component material from adjacent the opposite sides of the array of streams to assist atomization of the small, spaced streams into particles of first component material and to mix the plural components.     Abstract: A conventional air atomizing spray gun having a primary tip is provided with an auxiliary external spray nozzle directed in a converging path toward the outlet of the primary tip. The auxiliary spray tip is of the air atomizing, siphon type, and is connected via a conduit into an internal air supply passage of the spray gun at a location in the gun between the air supply valve and the primary spray tip. The air supply in the gun is used to operate both spray tips and to feed liquid into the siphon of the auxiliary tip. Liquid resin is fed to the primary spray tip, and a liquid catalyst is fed to the auxiliary spray tip, and the spray patterns of the two components converge and mix externally of the nozzles.
