Abstract: A retaining system for a solenoid assembly of a liquid adhesive dispensing system includes a quick-release mechanism configured to secure the solenoid assembly in place. The quick-release mechanism engages an air tube of the solenoid and thereby secures the entire solenoid assembly to a manifold. The quick-release mechanism can release the solenoid, facilitating easy removal of the entire solenoid assembly, by a simple turning, pushing, or pulling action on the quick-release mechanism. The released solenoid can then be removed and replaced, thereby minimizing downtime caused due to the replacement of a faulty solenoid.

Abstract: A nozzle assembly may be used to apply fluid to an advancing substrate. The nozzle assembly includes a nozzle body made from a first material. The nozzle body may include one or more abrasion resistant materials fused to the nozzle body. The nozzle body may be configured to deposit a fluid, using a shim plate, onto the advancing substrate. As the substrate advances past the nozzle assembly, the substrate and/or the fluid may contact the nozzle assembly resulting in wear. The one or more abrasion resistant materials, which is different than the first material of the nozzle body, may be fused to a portion of the nozzle body to reduce the wear and prolong the life of the nozzle body. Thus, the portion of the nozzle body having the abrasion resistant material is restored rather than having to replace the entire nozzle body.

Abstract: A system for dispensing hot melt adhesives, comprising an adhesive dispenser including a fluid passage leading to an outlet. The system further comprises a supply conduit fluidly connected to the fluid passage and a feeding mechanism configured to feed an elongate, flexible element of solid adhesive into the supply conduit. The system further comprises a first heating element positioned along at least a portion of the supply conduit to melt a portion of the elongate, flexible element being fed into the supply conduit and thereby form a supply of liquid adhesive within the supply conduit.

Abstract: The present invention provides a liquid level control system and method. The present invention achieves a uniformly soaking process of a substrate during different segments of a fixed time period, by using a liquid removal device to gradually remove a processing liquid from a tank. The substrate is disposed in the liquid in the tank to be wet processed. By the removal of the liquid from the tank via the liquid removal device, an area of the portion of the substrate being processed by the liquid can be gradually decreased whereby the substrate can be uniformly processed.

The adhesive dispensing system includes a manifold having a body, a first clamp configured to engage the body of the manifold, a second clamp configured to engage the body of the manifold, and a nozzle. The first and second clamps secure the nozzle to the body of the manifold. The body of the manifold has a first contact surface that engages the first clamp and a second contact surface that engages the second clamp and the nozzle, where the second contact surface is angularly offset from the first contact surface.

Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing a liquid includes a manifold having a high pressure passageway adapted to be coupled to a source of the liquid and to deliver the liquid at an elevated pressure to a dispenser. The manifold further includes a low pressure passageway for exhausting pressurized liquid from the high pressure passageway. A pressure relief valve is coupled between the high pressure passageway and the low pressure passageway. The pressure relief valve has a valve member mounted for movement relative to a valve seat. One side of the valve seat defines a high pressure side in communication with the high pressure passageway and another side of the valve seat defines a low pressure side in communication with the low pressure passageway. A dynamic seal engages the valve member on the low pressure side and prevents leakage of the liquid from the low pressure side.
