Abstract:
A media cassette loader is described. The media cassette loader comprises a base; a media loading surface inclined at an angle to the base; and an end wall upstanding from a lower end of the media loading surface. The end wall supports media items stacked on the media loading surface. The media loading surface and the end wall are dimensioned to be accommodated within a media cassette body. This allows the media cassette body to be placed over the media loading surface when stacked with media items so that the cassette body surrounds the stacked media items.
Abstract:
An automated banking machine is part of a banking system that can operate to cause financial transfers responsive to data read from data bearing records. The machine can also receive user card data from a cell phone, including an electronic account number. The phone's banking application encrypts the account number along with an inputted random number which was generated by the machine. The phone then displays a bar code image containing the encrypted data. The machine includes a bar code reader. The random number is used to verify the current transaction session. Thereafter, normal transaction flow can follow, including PIN input. The process allows for secure input of card data without physical insertion of a card. Thus, fraudulent activities based on card insertion can be reduced.
Abstract:
A user input comprising a climate control parameter is received. A climate control subsystem that is configured to modify an environment based on the climate control parameter is activated. A payment message that is based on a usage parameter is transmitted to a billing system. The payment message results in a charge being made to an account of the user.
Abstract:
Various embodiments include text-augmented interactive self-service terminal sessions as may be implemented in whole or in part according to one or more of the systems, methods and software illustrated and described herein. One method embodiment includes an SST and a remote service representative terminal device. The remote service representative terminal device captures live audio and video to form a multimedia stream and performs speech-to-text processing against the audio to obtain text. The text is then added to the multimedia stream. In some embodiments, the multimedia stream is then provided over a network to the SST. The SST may then provide a view of audio and video of the multimedia stream along with a view of the text. The text in such embodiments is presented synchronously with the audio and video.
Abstract:
A banking system operates responsive to data read from data bearing records. The system includes an automated banking machine comprising a card reader. The card reader includes a movable read head that can read card data along a magnetic stripe of a card that was inserted long-edge first. The card reader includes a card entry gate. The gate is opened for a card that is determined to be properly oriented for data reading. The card reader can encrypt card data, including account data. The card data is usable by the machine to authorize a user to carry out a financial transfer involving the account.
Abstract:
A low profile illuminated ATM surround is provided. The surround is used with ATMs which are mounted through a wall. The surround is attached to the wall, providing a broad illuminated advertising area around the ATM while maintaining a very low profile, allowing the surround to be used in locations where minimal space is available.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention include systems, methods, and computer-program products that provide for an enhanced mobile application for assisting users at a point-of-transaction (POT). In one embodiment of the invention the POT assistance application program may determines that a user is conducting a transaction with a merchant. The user may utilize a user device to assist in the transaction. First, the user device may be paired with a POT system, such as a cash register. Once the devices are paired a communication link is created that allows the user to audibly and/or visually monitor the transaction using the user device. Furthermore, the user may flag an item for review during the transaction, silence the transaction, receive a subtotal for the transaction, select a payment method, or complete the transaction using the POT assistance application program.
Abstract:
One method involves payment of money to a recipient traveling to one or more foreign countries by entering into a remote computer money transfer information from a sender. The money transfer information comprises recipient identification information, at least one country where the money is to be received, and a payment amount in an originating currency. The money transfer information is transmitted to a host computer system. When ready to receive payment in the designated country, recipient identification information along with a request to withdraw a portion of a possible payment amount is entered into a payout computer. The recipient identification information and the request to withdraw is transmitted to a host computer system, and the requested withdrawal is provided to the recipient in the local currency.
Abstract:
A data transmission device is provided. the data transmission device comprises a first device comprising a first memory; a second device comprising a plurality of sensors, a multiplexer to which data output from the plurality of sensors is input, and a counter connected to the multiplexer; a first transmission line configured to transmit a clock of a signal generator mounted on the first device or the second device to the second device or the first device; a second transmission line configured to transmit data output from the multiplexer according to an output from the counter of the second device to the first memory of the first device; and a third transmission line configured to transmit the output from the counter of the second device to the first device to enable the data transmitted to the first memory of the first device to be stored in a second memory or output.
Abstract:
While performing or initiating a transaction with a self-service video transaction device, a user may interact with a video agent and a terminal associated therewith. An error may occur during the transaction. In response to detecting the error, video agent(s) having video or audio functionalities to service the error may be identified. Servicing the error may also be based on a length of a wait time to connect to an appropriate video agent. If the wait time exceeds a predetermined threshold, an error receipt identifying the error and other information may be printed by the self-service video transaction device. If the wait time does not exceed the predetermined threshold, a display device of the self-service video transaction device may display an option for the user to connect to the video agent terminal.
