Abstract:
A content reproducing method and a content reproducing apparatus capable of continuously reproducing content by searching for an apparatus having optimal capabilities for reproducing the content, when a plurality of content reproducing apparatuses with similar functions are located within a short range of each other.
Abstract:
In a captured image outputting system, an image shot by an image capturing device is, upon shooting the image thereby, instantaneously transmitted to a display control device of a display system via wireless communication. The display system instantaneously projects the received image on a projection screen. The display system is comprised of a display device and a display control device. A liquid crystal projector may serve as the display device whereas an optional device, for use in wireless communication, connected to image input terminals of the liquid crystal projector may serve as the display control device. A digital still camera may serve as the image capturing device capable of carrying out wireless communication.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention provides for a method of electronically capturing usage information from a non-networked imaging device. The method includes generating a printed status report, including the usage information, from the non-networked imaging device, and optically scanning the printed status report to thereby produced an electronic copy of the optically scanned printed status report. The method further includes optically recognizing, from the electronic copy of the optically scanned printed status report, the usage information contained therein. The optically recognized usage information is then converted into digital usage information, and the digital usage information is saved to a computer readable memory device.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus that functions as a client of a distributed file system is provided, in which the image forming apparatus includes: a distributed file system process part for mounting a file system of a server apparatus on the image forming apparatus to enable the image forming apparatus to access the file system of the server apparatus as the distributed file system of the image forming apparatus; and a storing process part for accessing the file system of the server apparatus and storing, in the file system, information that is stored in a storage unit used by the image forming apparatus.
Abstract:
At least one printer is connected to an image source such as a digital camera via a network. When the printer receives a notification from the image source to switch a first image displayed on a display device to a second image, the printer displays an identifier of the second image according to the notification, and lights up an LED on a print button provided on the printer. When a period in which the printer is permitted to print the displayed image reaches a set time before a timeout, the LED on the print button is flashed. When the timeout is reached, the LED is turned off. When the print button is depressed, the printer sends a request for an image to the image source, receives image data for the image sent from the image source, and prints the image. When the print button is depressed to confirm a decision to print a displayed image while the printer is printing another image, the print decision is stored in a storage device in the printer, and the printer retrieves and executes the stored print decision after the ongoing printing operation is completed.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus to which a plurality of devices are connected comprises: an obtaining means for obtaining system setting information provided by the operating system; and a displaying means for recognizing the connection status of the plurality of devices based on the system setting information obtained by the obtaining means, and displaying the connection status of the plurality of devices. Also, an information processing apparatus to which a plurality of devices are connected comprises: an obtaining means for obtaining connection information of the plurality of devices; a comparing means for comparing the length of character strings of connection information for the plurality of devices, based on connection information obtained by the obtaining means; and a displaying means for displaying the connection status of the plurality of devices according to the comparison results from the comparing means. Thus, the object of providing an information processing apparatus, connection status displaying method, information processing system, and storage medium, whereby the connection status of multiple connected devices can be easily confirmed, and the user can immediately grasp where the device to be used is located, can be realized.
Abstract:
A radio paging network transmits non-paging data, such as facsimile images, to lap top computer receivers by formatting the data into a series of packets and interleaving these packets, on a space available basis, into the paging signal.
Abstract:
A first communication apparatus may repeat a broadcast transmission of a trigger signal via a second interface, which is a signal to be used by a second communication apparatus as a trigger for sending a wireless connection request to the first communication apparatus. The wireless connection request may be for forming a first wireless network to which both the first communication apparatus and the second communication apparatus belong. The first wireless network may be a network for performing a wireless communication via a first interface The first communication apparatus may receive the wireless connection request via the first interface from the second communication apparatus which has received the trigger signal, and establish a first wireless connection via the first interface with the second communication apparatus so as to form the first wireless network.
