Abstract: Disclosed herein is a fuel composition having (1) greater than 50 wt % of a hydrocarbon fuel boiling in the gasoline or diesel range and (2) a minor amount of a low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI)-reducing additive having one or more of an amidine, or a beta-amino alkanol having the structure R1, R2, R3, and R4 are each independently selected from hydrogen, aromatic ring, and a C1-C20 alkyl group and R5 is hydrogen or an alcohol having the structure —(CH)R6—OH. R6 is hydrogen, a C1-C10 alkyl group, or a C1-C10 alkenyl group, or a salt thereof.

The process can also be used to prepare gasoline alkylate, a higher molecular weight ethylene oligomer, a higher-molecular-weight-ethylene-oligomer-based methyl ether, an isomerized higher molecular weight ethylene oligomer, or an isomerized-higher-molecular-weight-ethylene-oligomer-based methyl ether.

Abstract: In a process for upgrading paraffins and olefins, a first feed comprising C14− olefins is contacted with an oligomerization catalyst in a first reaction zone under conditions effective for oligomerization of olefins to higher molecular weight hydrocarbons. Deactivated catalyst is removed from the first reaction zone at a first temperature and is contacted with an oxygen-containing gas and a hydrocarbon-containing fuel in a regeneration zone to regenerate the catalyst and raise the temperature of the catalyst to a second, higher temperature. A second feed comprising C14− paraffins is contacted with the regenerated catalyst in a second reaction zone to convert at least some of the paraffins in the second feed to a reaction effluent comprising olefins, aromatic hydrocarbons and regenerated catalyst; and the reaction effluent is supplied to the first reaction zone. A system for performing such a process and a product of such a process are also provided.

Abstract: A combined fuel for use in an internal combustion engine comprises a combination of partially combusted particles from the engine exhaust, said particles being in suspension in ordinary fuel. A method and apparatus for recycling partially combusted particulate material by collecting those materials. The particulate materials are combined with ordinary fuel in the fuel system to form the combined fuel which is filtered and fed the engine for combustion.
