    Abstract: One or more embodiments relate to a control circuit for an input filter circuit in a switch mode power supply comprising a power switch and a switch controller to control the power switch to provide a regulated output voltage and current to a load. The control circuit, also referred to as a filter control circuit, can be used to detect a high voltage surge at its input and disconnect a capacitor in the input filter circuit from an input return, thereby protecting the input filter capacitor and the SMPS from damage. According to certain aspects, the control circuit can be integrated with the switch controller. Additionally, the control circuit can provide power to the switch controller at start-up.

    Abstract: A dual mode, passcode storage, wireless secure lock is disclosed. In one embodiment, a key is provided that includes a key coil, a first key data processing device (DPD), a second key DPD, and a key radio transceiver. The first key DPD is configured to receive a first authentication code (AC) from a lock via the key coil. The first key DPD is configured to compare the first AC with data in memory of the key DPD. The first key DPD is configured to activate the second key DPD in response to response to determining the first AC compares equally to data in memory of the first key DPD. The second key DPD is configured to transmit a second AC to the lock via the key radio transceiver after the second key DPD is activated.

    Abstract: A spectrometer having a plasmonic filter/microlens arrangement is provided. The spectrometer can include a controller; an image sensor with a pixel array formed by a plurality of pixels coupled to the controller; and an optical layer over the image sensor. The optical layer can include a plasmonic microlens array having a plurality of microlenses positioned over the spacer layer, each microlens of the plasmonic microlens array focusing light on one of the plurality of pixels, and a plasmonic filter array arranged with the plasmonic microlens array such that light incident on each of the plurality of pixels has a transmission function. The microlenses and plasmonic filters can be formed of a composite structure.

    Abstract: One or more embodiments enable both a fixed bandgap reference voltage and a variable reference voltage to be generated and stored on a capacitor. According to certain aspects, the present embodiments use an additional storage capacitor of smaller size to reduce the sub-threshold leakage of an isolating FET switches at high temperatures. Among other aspects, this enables a more efficient use of chip area for reducing sub-threshold induced leakage than simply increasing the storage capacitor when precision storage is required.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for microcontroller (MCU) memory relocation. The MCU includes a central processing unit (CPU) and memory, but lacks a memory management unit (MMU). In one embodiment of the method, a first program is selected for execution by the CPU. The first program is one of a plurality of programs stored in the memory of the MCU. Each of the programs includes position dependent instructions. The programs are compiled from source code written in position dependent code.

    Abstract: Common microcontroller unit (MCU) self-identification information is disclosed. In one embodiment, an MCU is contained in a package. The MCU includes a central processing unit (CPU) and a non-volatile memory. This non-volatile memory stores information specific to the MCU and/or the package. The non-volatile memory also stores a common main program that, when executed by the CPU, accesses the information. The information enables the common main program to adapt itself to resources of the MCU and/or package that are identified in the information.
