Polyester polymers are described comprising polymerized units comprising a hydroxy functional aromatic group wherein the hydroxy group has been functionalized with an adhesion promoting group. In some embodiments, the polyester polymer comprises polymerized units have the general structure (A) wherein L1 and L2 are independently divalent linking groups comprising an ester group; and RA is an adhesion promoting group bonded to the oxygen atom by means of an ionic or covalent bond. In other embodiments, film articles, laminates are described and methods of making functionalized polyester polymers are described.
Abstract:
Fluorinated silane compounds, compositions containing the fluorinated silane compounds, and articles prepared using the fluorinated silane compounds and compositions are described. The fluorinated silane compounds can be soluble or dispersible in aqueous media, such as water, and can be used to coat articles, such as glass articles.

Presently described are articles, such as optical displays and protective films, comprising a (e.g. light transmissive) substrate having a surface layer comprising the reaction product of a mixture comprising a non-fluorinated binder precursor (e.g. of a hardcoat composition) and at least one polymerizable perfluoropolyether polymer. The resulting cured surface layer can advantageously exhibit low lint attraction in combination with low surface energy. Also described are one-step and two-step methods of synthesizing perfluoropolyether polymers having polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated groups.

Described herein is a polydiorganosiloxane polyurethane, linear, block copolymer and methods of making thereof. The copolymers comprise soft segments that are polydioranosiloxane units and hard segments which are polyurethane residues.

A fluorinated bis(acyl-containing compound and a fluorinated polyester formed from the fluorinated diacyl are described. More particularly, the fluorinated diacyl has an aromatic ring bonded to two acyl groups plus at least one third group that contains a perfluoroalkylsulfonamido group. The fluorinated polyesters formed from the fluorinated diacyl-containing compound can be used to provide a low energy surface with a relatively low refractive index compared to many other polyesters.
