Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a micropattern surface with a reentrant structure with hydrophobicity and oleophobicity through a simple process using capillary force. The method of the present invention includes a step of forming a resin layer by applying an ultraviolet rays (UV) curable resin on a first substrate; a step of forming a pillar-shaped fine pattern on a second substrate; a step of bringing the resin layer and the fine pattern into contact with each other by moving the first substrate or the second substrate so that the resin layer and the fine pattern face each other; and a step of curing the resin by radiating ultraviolet rays while the resin located around a pillar of the fine pattern moves a certain distance along the pillar in the longitudinal direction of the pillar of the fine pattern by capillary force.

Abstract: A UV/LED printing and finishing process is disclosed. The printing and finishing process improves the manner in which printing, permanent bonding, and finishing is performed on products containing low surface energy plastics, such as high-density polyethylene furniture. The process includes abrading a surface of the low surface energy plastic and then applying a corona or plasma treatment to the surface of the low surface energy plastic to increase the adhesion capabilities of the surface. Once the surface has been treater, the process may include printing a polymer ink onto the surface of the low surface energy plastic, such as by utilizing a UV/LED flatbed or hybrid printer. The process may also include curing the printed surface of the low surface energy plastic, and then finally applying a clear inorganic top coating onto the printed surface to protect the UV/LED cured polymer ink.

The method for producing a curable film according to the present invention includes an application step in which a curable composition that is photocurable and thermocurable and also is in liquid form is applied using an ink jet device, a first light irradiation step in which the curable composition is irradiated with light from a first light irradiation part, and a heating step in which a precured product film irradiated with light is heated, the ink jet device has an ink tank to store the curable composition, a discharge part, and a circulation flow path part, and in the application step, the curable composition is applied while being circulated in the ink jet device.-

Abstract: Provided are methods for selecting a polymer for use as a flexible electronics substrate. An example method includes selecting a thermosetting polymer from a plurality of polymers, wherein the thermosetting polymer: undergoes a thermomechanical transition at a transition temperature between room temperature and the highest temperature observed during processing from the glassy to the rubbery regime; wherein the thermosetting polymer has a Young's modulus below 3 GPa in the glassy regime and wherein the thermosetting polymer has a Young's modulus above 0.3 MPa in the rubbery regime. The method further includes producing a flexible electronic substrate from the selected polymer.

Abstract: An atomizer for applying a coating includes a nozzle plate, an actuator, and an acoustic focusing device. The nozzle plate defines at least one aperture. The actuator is configured to oscillate to form pressure waves within a fluid to eject the fluid from the nozzle plate. The acoustic focusing device focuses the pressure waves toward the apertures.
