Abstract:
It is one aspect to provide a novel trigger point therapy device which is effective for pain management with the treatment of trigger points, releasing tight and painful myofascial fascia, and general self massage. In preferred embodiments, the apparatus comprises: a flexible strap; a first knob mounted to the strap and protruding out from a side of the strap; a second knob mounted proximate to the first knob and protruding out from the side of the strap in the same direction as the first knob; and a strap adjustment means; and wherein the device is configured so that a user may apply varying degrees of pressure to tight and painful myofascial fascia providing hands free self massage.
Abstract:
An improved apparatus and method of body contouring and skin conditioning for the treatment of conditions such as lymphoedema by producing vibrations in the subcutaneous layers of fat. The apparatus includes a cup which engages the patient's skin surface and a vacuum source which provides suction and a pulsating movement against the skin's surface, mimicking the movement of the lymphatic system and flushing out toxins, fat layers and trapped fluid from the area.
Abstract:
A therapeutic appliance includes a water pack, at least one massaging finger, a recirculating water system and a thermoelectric device. The massaging finger has a vibrator disposed on the water pack to exciting liquid in the water pack for massaging a body portion to be massaged. The recirculating water system has a container and a conduit connecting the container and the water pack such that the liquid is permitted to circulate between the container and the water pack. In addition, the thermoelectric device is disposed in the container of the recirculating water system for heating or cooling the liquid.
Abstract:
A perineal massage device is configured to provide a dilation and massage function for the vaginal opening, particularly including the lower half in the area of a woman's perineum. A preferred version of the device is configured to be able to apply sub-sonic, sonic, and ultrasonic vibrational stimulus and to emit a gel. In some versions, the device may be configured for communication to one or more remote computers, smart phones, or other devices for remote control and sharing of data.
Abstract:
A compression integument for applying controllable intermittent sequential compression to the limbs of a user comprises an elongated fabric body sized to encircle a limb of a user, one or more compressible pads affixed to a surface of the fabric body facing the limb when the fabric body is wrapped around the limb; one or more tensioning elements integrated into the fabric body or compressible pads and arranged to encircle the limb when the fabric body is wrapped around the limb, and a micro-processor based actuator for selectively actuating the one or more tensioning elements to reduce the effective diameter of the tensioning elements encircling the limb, to thereby apply pressure to the limb by way of the compressible pads.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for controlling infrared radiation (IR) sources of a sauna including tuning IR wavelength-ranges and radiated power-levels of IR sources, and directing IR to locations on a user's body. In one illustrative embodiment, a sauna may be provided having adjustable heat sources to emit IR at any wavelength resulting in a desirable radiation treatment for the sauna user. In another illustrative embodiment, a method is provided for tuning IR sources in a sauna.
Abstract:
A medical photothermal moxibustion instrument relates to a medical instrument. An instrument working power source and a general assembly plate of a moxibustion signal adjusting system are fixed in a shell; a set key and a medical photothermal moxibustion head socket are installed on a panel of the shell; and a plug is connected with a moxibustion head substrate via a signal connecting conductor. An S-shaped medicine line slot is arranged on the working face of the moxibustion head substrate, and the medicine line slot intersects with a wire connecting two light emitting diodes on the same diameter. Then the connected plug is inserted into a moxibustion head socket and a medicine line is squeezed into the medicine line slot. The difficulty that moxibustion medicine can not be placed in a V-shaped shallow pit of the moxibustion head and is easy to drop is effectively solved by changing the line burying way by means of squeezing the medicine line into the S-shaped or reversed S-shaped bent medicine line slot more tightly. Therefore, the simultaneous moxibustion of medicine, light and heat can be carried out conveniently, and the medical photothermal moxibustion instrument is beneficial for popularizing the modern moxibustion therapy technology and improving the therapeutic effect of the modern moxibustion therapy.
Abstract:
A gum massaging tool includes a handle portion which accommodates electric or mechanical members and in which a selector switch is provided in an exposed manner; a fixed shaft portion that is fixed to the handle portion so as to extend from one end of the handle portion and is heated according to an operation of the selector switch; a gum contact portion that is rotatable around a distal end portion of the fixed shaft portion and that includes a carbon body which receives heat from the fixed shaft portion and transfers the heat to a gum contacting surface; and a supporting portion that is rotatably engaged with and supports the gum contact portion and is detachably attached to the handle portion.
Abstract:
A device for enhancing sexual pleasure includes an appliance, a memory for storing code for operating the appliance, and a processor for executing the code, all housed in a housing configured for insertion, as such or inside a condom, into a sexual organ. The appliance could be a stimulator or a sensor. The stimulator could be a speaker, a heater, a thermoelectric cooler, a source of electromagnetic radiation such as visible light, a source of electrical power or a mechanism for pressurizing a pressurizable medium. The sensor could be a thermometer, a microphone, a camera or an accelerometer.
Abstract:
A cushion for a patient interface includes two or more bladders arranged in concentric relation. Each of the bladders includes a face-contacting portion adapted to engage the patient's face, and each of the bladders is adapted to be pressurized independently from one another. At least one of the bladders is an active bladder that is pressurized to at least a sealing pressure to form a continuous seal with the patient's face in use.
