Abstract:
Die-cuttable and printable adhesive containing labelstocks for use in preparing die cut adhesive labels, and methods of preparing the labelstocks and die cut labels are described. The labelstocks comprise extruded machine direction oriented monolayer or multilayer films and an adhesive layer. The monolayer films comprise a mixture of about 25% to 80% by weight of a propylene polymer or copolymer, and from about 20% to about 75% by weight of a polyethylene. The films are stretch oriented in the machine direction at a temperature at about or above the melting temperature of the polyethylenes.
Abstract:
This invention generally relates to a painter's masking tape that covers well and is easy to tear in a straight edge without the use of scissors or other mechanical means. The tape comprises perforated portions that allow for the easy tearing of the tape. The bottom surface of the tape has an adhesive layer that is easily removed from the surface of the object to be protected. The non-adhesive portion is coated with an impervious coating to prevent the seepage of the paint or other liquid through the tape and onto the protected surface. The perforated portions of the tape are also made impervious to liquids by either being covered with an impervious coating, film, or tape pieces.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a self-adhesive article comprising a support layer of foam or similar type and an adhesive layer obtained by cross-linking an adhesive composition. The present invention also relates to a mixture of at least two polymers suitable for use for the manufacture of the self-adhesive article as well as an adhesive composition comprising said mixture of at least two polymers according to the invention.
Abstract:
A binding tape member and a wire harness having a binding tape member configured to having the same function of conventional wire harnesses without the need for corrugated tube, pre-wrapping or post wrapping. The binding tape member has a tape member body that covers a group of electrical lines by being wrapped around the group of electrical lines. The tape body has a trapezoidal upper surface portion with an upper side and a lower side that correspond to the tape width end edges and a trapezoidal lower surface portion facing a direction opposite to the trapezoidal upper surface portion are alternatingly arranged in the tape length direction. Also, in a trapezoidal upper surface portion and a trapezoidal lower surface portion that are adjacent to each other, sides thereof in the tape length direction are connected to each other in an integrated manner by a rectangular side wall portion.
Abstract:
An abrasion-resistant adhesive tape (1), that can be formed into a roll, preferably a cable winding tape (1), with a strip-shaped double-layer substrate (2) with a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating (3) on one side. The substrate (2) having a first textile fabric layer (4) and a second textile fabric layer (5), being permanently connected by an adhesive connection layer (6). For a high abrasion resistance, preferably a class-E abrasion resistance according to LV 312, and enabling easy processing with a minimal thickness, the first and second textile layers (4) each have a basis weight ranging from 80 to 300 g/m2, the adhesive connection layer (6) having a basis weight ranging from 50 to 300 g/m2 and a laminate adhesive force, by DIN EN 1939, between the textile layers greater than 10 N/cm.

Abstract:
Water activated tapes, in particular film laminated, water activated paper tapes and methods of making the same are disclosed. The film laminated, water activated paper tapes include a paper backing having a top surface and a bottom surface, a water activated adhesive applied to the bottom surface of the paper backing, and a film reinforcement structure applied to the top surface of the paper backing The film reinforcement structure includes an outermost oriented film, and a lamination layer. The lamination layer may include one or more of an enhanced polyethylene resin, a polyolefin plastomer, a very low density polyethylene, a nylon, a polyester, and a co-polyester laminating the outermost polyolefin film to the paper backing The laminating of the film reinforcement structure to the paper backing is an extrusion lamination process that includes coextruding the outermost polyolefin film and the lamination layer onto the paper backing
Abstract:
A foam tape having a multi-layer structure comprising a polyurethane foam core layer, at least one tie layer, adjacent one side of the polyurethane foam core layer, a first PSA film on one side of the first tie layer and a second PSA film, either on one side of a second tie layer or on one side of a polyester layer directly adjacent the opposite side of the polyurethane foam core layer, and a double-sided release layer on one side of the first PSA film. The foamed tape can be made by a process comprising applying a polymeric film to a first release layer to form a supported tie layer, referred to as Intermediate Product A, coating and drying a PSA composition on a second release layer to form a supported PSA coating, referred to as Intermediate Product B, laminating Intermediate Product B to Intermediate Product A which, after removing the release layer on the tie layer, forms Intermediate Product C comprising, in sequence, release layer, PSA film, and tie layer. A polyurethane foam precursor composition can be coated between a first and second Intermediate Product C, and the composition cured to form a polyurethane foam core layer.
Abstract:
A floor marking tape has a structure that retains the adhesive under the tape to prevent the adhesive from being squeezed out from under the tape when the tape is in use on a floor. In one embodiment, the structure is a shoulder that defines a recess that holds the bulk of the adhesive. The shoulder prevents the adhesive from flowing out to the outer edge of the tape. The tape may have beveled edges that limit the unintentional lifting and delamination of the tape from the floor. The upper surface of the tape may be curved from edge-to-edge to limit dirt retention on the tape as well as allowing objects to slide over the tape.
Abstract:
This invention provides a PSA sheet comprising a PSA layer (A) constituting an adhesive face and a viscoelastic layer (B) supporting the PSA layer (A). The PSA layer (A) comprises, as a base polymer (A), a block copolymer of a monovinyl-substituted aromatic compound and a conjugated diene compound. The base polymer (A) comprises 30% by mass or more of a diblock copolymer. The viscoelastic layer (B) has a thickness of 200 μm or larger.
Abstract:
An adhesive tape substrate production method disclosed in the present description includes the steps of: decreasing the amount of a sizing agent contained in a glass cloth by heat; impregnating the glass cloth for which the amount of the sizing agent has been decreased with a dispersion of a fluorine resin; and heating the impregnated glass cloth to a temperature equal to or higher than a melting point of the fluorine resin. Thus, an adhesive tape substrate including the glass cloth impregnated with the fluorine resin is obtained. This method are more productive of adhesive tape substrates and adhesive tapes than conventional methods. In addition, adhesive tape substrates and adhesive tapes for which the occurrence of defects in appearance are reduced can be produced.
