Abstract: A headset for augmented reality applications is provided. The headset includes at least one eyepiece configured to provide a see-through image to a user via a transparent optical component, and to provide an artificial image through a display, and a dimming shutter configured to adjust a transparency level of the transparent optical component. The dimming shutter further includes an active liquid crystal layer configured to adjust a transparency level according to an electrical power provided between two electrodes, and a photoactive layer configured to adjust the transparency level upon absorption of an ultraviolet radiation for a selected period of time. A default orientation of a host material in the active liquid crystal layer may be in a dark state or in a clear state, when no electrical power is provided. A method and a memory storing instructions to execute the method for use of the above device are also provided.

Abstract: A manufacturing method of an array substrate includes the steps of providing a base plate and forming a thin-film transistor (TFT) layer on the base plate; forming a quantum dot layer on the TFT layer; and forming a protective filter layer on the quantum dot layer to provide protection to the quantum dot layer. The protective filter layer also provides an effect of light filtering in order to prevent ultraviolet light or blue light from transmitting therethrough.

Abstract: The present invention provides an array substrate and a manufacturing method thereof. The array substrate of the present invention includes: a base plate (1), a TFT layer (2) arranged on the base plate (1), a quantum dot layer (3) arranged on the TFT layer (2), and a protective filter layer (4) arranged on the quantum dot layer (3). The arrangement of the quantum dot layer (3) helps compensate the insufficiency of color displaying of an existing color filter layer and expands the range of color gamut. The arrangement of the protective filter layer (4) helps overcome the issues of poor efficiency and stability of the prior art quantum dot.
