    Abstract: Software and resources, pre-deployed in accordance with a disaster recovery policy, are placed in a standby state to provide rapid disaster recovery in a cloud storage environment. When a disaster recovery situation is detected, (for example a loss of access to primary data), the pre-deployed resources are immediately activated according to the disaster recovery policy to provision and re-configure adequate resources and rapidly restore access to the data (such as restoring data from cloud backup storage). A disaster recovery situation may involve, for example, loss of hardware availability, network bandwidth interruption, or a sudden and large unforeseen jump in storage retrieval request volume (for example a recall storm).

    Abstract: A data storage device is disclosed wherein a first host block is written to a first data sector, and when writing a second host block to a second data sector the first host block is read from the first data sector. When the read of the first host block fails, a partial map is generated identifying a location of the second host block in the second data sector, the partial map is stored in a non-volatile memory, and the second host block is written to the second data sector. When a power failure occurs after writing the second host block to the second data sector, an exception entry is updated using the partial map, wherein the exception entry is associated with the first and second host blocks.

    Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for detecting consistency between first and second data replicas is provided. Detecting consistency between data replicas includes acquiring first characteristic information of a first data replica and second characteristic information of a second data replica, the first and second characteristic information being associated with keys of the respective first and second data replicas. Detecting consistency between data replicas further include determining, based on a predetermined threshold value of a number of determination times, whether the first characteristic information is identical to the second characteristic information of the second data replica. In response to the determining that the first characteristic information and the second characteristic information are identical, whether the first data replica is consistent with the second data replica may then be confirmed.
