Abstract:
A method for providing a status to a plurality of devices in a distributed VoIP system includes circulating a first status data packet between each device in the first group of devices and circulating a second status data packet between each device in the second group of devices. One device in the first group of devices participates in circulating both the first status data packet and the second status data packet, while the other devices in the first group of devices circulate only the first status data packet. One device in the second group of devices participates in circulating both the first status data packet and the second status data packet, while the other devices in the second group of devices circulate only the second status data packet.
Abstract:
Systems and methods performed by an IP telephony system are designed to determine when two parties to a recently terminated telephony communication are simultaneously calling each other in an attempt to re-establish a telephony communication. When the IP telephony system determines that this situation is occurring, the IP telephony system acts to connect the two parties, rather than have both of them see their new call setup attempt fail because the other party's telephony device is indicated to be busy.
Abstract:
Techniques for announcing conference attendance changes in multiple languages and in a minimally disruptive form are described. An embodiment may include batching announcement events for a time period. The time period may be specific, or may be determined by the length of an ongoing announcement. At the end of the batching time, an announcement of the batched events may be streamed to the conference participants. Multiple batched events may be summarized into one announcement. Multiple access points to a conference may be provided, where each access point provides announcements in a different language. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
A method of managing visual voice mail in a multi-screen environment. The method includes receiving voice mail messages in a server, creating a state machine for each message, pushing a visual voice mail notification to at least three devices, receiving an action command from one of the three devices and updating the state machine responsive to the receiving step.
Abstract:
A method for network initiated redial comprising the steps of receiving, at a network subsystem, from a first mobile device a request to establish a first call with a second mobile device at a time T0; notifying the first mobile device about an unsuccessful attempt of establishing the first call with the second mobile device; the method further comprises the step of registering, at the network subsystem, an unsuccessful first call attempt between the first mobile device and the second mobile device at a time T0; receiving, at a network subsystem, from the second mobile device a request to establish a second call with the first mobile device at a time T3; notifying the second mobile device about an unsuccessful attempt of establishing a second call with the first mobile device; registering, at the network subsystem, an unsuccessful second call attempt between the second mobile device and the first mobile device at a time T3; verifying whether there occurred a simultaneous or substantially simultaneous calls situation between the first call and the second call; establishing a network initiated call between the first mobile device and the second mobile device when there occurred a simultaneous or substantially simultaneous calls situation between the first call and the second call.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of systems, methods, and computer programs are disclosed for joining an online conference already in progress. One such method comprises: a conferencing system establishing an audio conference between a plurality of participants accessing the conferencing system via a communication network; the conferencing system presenting to the participants via a graphical user interface the audio conference and a conference interface displaying a participant object identifying each of the participants; synchronously recording the audio conference with content presented in the conference interface; storing the synchronized audio conference and the content; during the audio conference, receiving from a new participant a request to join the audio conference already in progress; and in response to the request to join the audio conference, playing back the synchronized audio conference and the content presented in the conference interface to the new participant beginning from a recording start location.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a method and/or system of transmitting and/or receiving data is disclosed. For example, a sequence of binary signal values may, in one embodiment, represent a sequence of trees, such as unitary trees. A variety of techniques exist for transmitting and/or receiving signal data. However, such techniques typically have several disadvantages, including, a limit on the size of the signal datum that may be transmitted and/or received, such as 32 or 64 bits, for example. Another disadvantage includes the difficulty of synchronization between a receiver and transmitter. Thus, new methods and/or systems for receiving and/or transmitting signal data continue to be desirable, such as those disclosed.
Abstract:
A device detects that a first user device is calling a second user device while the second user device is calling the first user device, and sends a notification to the first user device or the second user device indicating that the first user device and the second user device are calling one another. The device receives a response to the notification indicating that the first user device and the second user device are to be connected for a call, designates the first user device or the second user device as a call originator, and connects the first user device and the second user device for the call.
Abstract:
A telephone service, particularly a telephone supplementary service communication system having an IP telephone control apparatus and an IP telephone terminal. A telephone supplementary service communication control system for the service communicate system is comprised of a specified voice terminal and a plurality of telephone supplementary service terminals registered to link with the same and including a communication control apparatus registering linking of the specified voice terminal and the plurality of telephone supplementary service terminals as a single virtual terminal and managing and controlling the running and termination of these linked terminals, wherein the communication control apparatus comprises a supplementary service starting unit monitoring the communication start state of the voice terminal and starting the supplementary service by the telephone supplementary service terminal linked with the voice terminal.
