Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for correlating functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) with gene expression. Brains of first and second sets of patients are imaged at first and second times to provide first and second sets of fMRI images. Blood is drawn from each of the first and second sets of patients at the first and second times to provide first and second sets of gene expression transcripts. A therapeutic is administered to the first set of patients between the first and second times. A change in the connectivity of the brain for each patient is determined from the first and second sets of fMRI images. A set of changes in the peripheral lymphocyte gene expression that are correlated with changes in the connectivity of the brain are determined from the change in the connectivity of the brain for each patient and the collected imaging and gene expression data.

Abstract: An introducer sheath is provided for inserting at least one medical instrument directly toward a target patient tissue site. A plurality of lumens extend longitudinally between sheath proximal and distal ends of the introducer sheath. A septum extends between the sheath proximal and distal ends and selectively laterally separates each of the sheath lumens from one another. The septum is at least partially formed from a deformable and elastomeric material. The septum has a biased condition in which the plurality of sheath lumens are at least partially isolated from one another. The septum is selectively deflectable from the biased condition to at least partially place at least one of the plurality of sheath lumens in fluid communication with at least one other of the plurality of sheath lumens.

Abstract: A system for treating regurgitation of blood through a diseased heart valve having at least two leaflets can include an implantable, lollipop-shaped device and an adjustment mechanism. The device can have a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, and an intermediate portion extending therebetween. The intermediate portion can include an expandable occluding member having a selectively adjustable diameter and a biocompatible layer attached to at least a portion thereof. The distal end portion can include an anchoring member. The adjustment member can include a distal connecting end that is operatively connected to the proximal end portion of the device. Operation of the adjustment member, after implantation of the device, can cause the diameter of the occluding member to change so that at least one of the heart leaflet coapts with a portion of the occluding member to mitigate or prevent regurgitation of blood through the diseased heart valve.

Abstract: Systems and methods for electrocardiographic waveform analysis, data presentation and actionable alert generation are described. Electrocardiographic waveform data can be received from a wearable device associated with a patient. A mathematical analysis of at least a portion of the electrocardiographic waveform data can be performed to provide cardiac analytics. In instances where (1) a pathologically prolonged QT interval and (2) an R on T premature ventricular contraction and/or a ventricular tachycardia are detected from the cardiac analytics of the at least a portion of the electrocardiographic waveform data, an actionable alert can be generated and displayed with a visualization of the cardiac analytics.
