Abstract: Heat de-bondable adhesive articles include a heat-shrinkable optical substrate with optically clear adhesive disposed on the two major surfaces of the heat-shrinkable substrate. Optical articles can be prepared by disposing the heat de-bondable adhesive articles between two optical substrates. Other optical articles can be prepared by disposing an optically clear adhesive layer and a heat-shrinkable optical substrate on an optical substrate.

Abstract: Crosslinkable compositions, crosslinked compositions, articles containing these compositions, and methods of making the articles are provided. The crosslinkable compositions, which include two (meth)acrylate polymers, are used to form the crosslinked compositions upon exposure to ultraviolet radiation. The crosslinkable and crosslinked compositions are free or substantially free of tackifiers. The crosslinked compositions can function as pressure-sensitive adhesives. The crosslinkable compositions are well suited for use with hot melt processing methods.

Abstract: The present invention is an assembly layer for a flexible device. The assembly layer is derived from precursors that include an alkyl(meth)acrylate ester having 1 to 24 carbon atoms in the alkyl group and a free-radical generating initiator. Within a temperature range of between −30° C. to 90° C., the assembly layer has a shear storage modulus at a frequency of 1 Hz that does not exceed 2 MPa, a shear creep compliance (J) of at least 6×10″6 1/Pa measured at 5 seconds with an applied shear stress between 50 kPa and 500 kPa, and a strain recovery of at least 50% at at least one point of applied shear stress within the range of 5 kPa to 500 kPa within 1 minute after removing the applied shear stress. In a preferred embodiment, the flexible device is a flexible electronic display.

Abstract: An adhesive composition includes a first acrylic polymer preparable from first components and a second acrylic polymer. The first components comprising i) a branched first alkyl (meth)acrylate having from 4 to 22 carbon atoms, and ii) at least one of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid. The second acrylic polymer is preparable from second components comprising iii) at least one second alkyl (meth)acrylate having from 4 to 22 carbon atoms, iv) a (meth)acrylamide represented by the formula wherein R1 is H or methyl, and R2 and R3 each independently represents H or an alkyl group having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or taken together R2 and R3 may form a divalent alkylene group having from 4 to 6 carbon atoms, and v) at least one high Tg macromer having a terminal free-radically polymerizable unsaturated group, the high Tg macromer having a Tg of at least 45° C. Based on the combined total weight of the at least one first acrylic polymer and the at least one second acrylic polymer, the at least one second acrylic polymer is present at a level of from 5 to 40 percent by weight. Methods of making the adhesive composition are also disclosed.

Abstract: Flame retardant adhesive are described. The flame retardant adhesives include at least 93 wt. % an acrylic copolymer. This acrylic copolymer comprises the polymerization reaction product of 50 to 92 wt. % of at least one alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer, 3 to 25 wt. % of at least one nitrogen-containing monomer, and 5 to 25 wt. % of at least one vinyl-functional poly(methacrylate) macromer. Articles incorporating such adhesive are also described.
