Abstract:
The present invention provides, among other things, apparatus and methods of use for treating a subject in need of assistance with breathing. In some embodiments the subject suffers from airflow obstruction. In some embodiments, the subject suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Abstract:
A medical treatment system including a treatment chamber, a source of an aqueous mist containing a medication, a source of an oxygen-enriched gas, and a control system adapted to alternately surround a human body part with a mist containing a medication and the oxygen enriched gas, which can be used to treat various skin disorders including infected lesions, bacterial infections such as acne (i.e. Propionibacterium acnes), fungal infections such as Athelete's foot (i.e. fungal genus Trichophyton), conditions associated with hair loss including alopecia as well as ulcerations and frostbite resulting from poor circulation. A method of treating skin disorders is also disclosed, that includes providing a mist containing a medication and enriched oxygen gas to the site being treated as well as providing oxygen to the patient during treatment.
Abstract:
A system for remote ischemic preconditioning that includes a cuff, and actuator, and a controller that operates the actuator according to a treatment protocol. The treatment protocol includes a plurality of treatment cycles that each comprise cuff actuation, an ischemic duration, cuff release, and a reperfusion duration.
Abstract:
Embodiments for systems, methods and apparatuses of eyewear are disclosed. One method includes treating a patient with shutter glasses therapy for a relatively short period of time, such as at least a 6 week period; wherein the shutter glasses therapy includes blanking a first lens of shutter glasses being worn by the patient for a first blocking time, blanking a second lens of the shutter glasses being worn by the patient for a second blocking time, and controllably setting at least one of the first blocking time and the second blocking time.
Abstract:
Provided are a gas mist pressure bathing method and a gas mist pressure bathing system that improve the efficiency of absorbing a gas mist from the skin and mucous membranes of a living body. The gas mist pressure bathing method is provided with a first step, a second step and a third step. The first step involves supplying a gas mist and gas for a predetermined time to at least a first cover 51 of a living body cover member 50 having said first cover 51 and a second cover 55 positioned outside of the first cover 51, the inside of said second cover 55 being substantially sealed; covering the skin and mucous membranes of the living body; and forming a space wherein the gas mist and gas supplied by a gas mist generating means 30 are sealed. The second step involves discharging the gas mist and gas from the first cover 51 and/or the second cover 55. The third step involves supplying the gas mist and gas for a predetermined time from the gas mist generating means 30 to the first cover 51 and the second cover 55, and keeping the pressure inside at least the second cover 55 in a predetermined range. The first to third steps are repeated multiple times.
Abstract:
A method for providing directions to a blind user of a smart device is described. The method includes detecting, by at least two sensors and in response to a selection of a find mode of the smart device, image data corresponding to a surrounding environment of the smart device and positioning data corresponding to a positioning of the smart device. The method also includes receiving, by an input device, the desired object or the desired location. The method also includes determining, by a processor, the initial location of the smart device based on the image data, the positioning data and map data stored in a memory of the smart device. The method also includes providing, by the output device, the directions to the desired object based on the initial location of the smart device and the map data.
Abstract:
A vehicle seat comprising a seat back having a foot massage system, wherein the seat back includes front side and rear side, the rear side receiving the foot massage system, said foot massage system configured to pivot around an axis that is fixed relative to the seat back between a first in-use position, wherein the massage system pivots down to receive a passenger's feet, and a second folded-away position wherein the massage system is retreated along the backrest rear side. The foot massage system includes a registration area for guiding the passenger's foot to proper massage position and a pressure detection system having pressure sensors. Only when all of the pressure sensors are pressed, the foot massage system can start to work.
Abstract:
The invention, relates to vehicle seat, comprising an upper lid mechanism configured to move between a closed position, where the upper lid mechanism covers the messages system so as to provide foot rest surface, and an open position where the upper lid mechanism transforms and opens up so as to form a foot accommodation space for foot massage. The upper lid mechanism comprises an array of flat sections, and an actuator.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a sexual massager that is configured to communicate (directly or indirectly) a message to a target in response to an occurrence of an event. The sexual massager may be a sexual aid. Messages may be generated based on various pre-sets and/or user selections established to determine a type of message, content for inclusion in the message, the target, the event, and other customizations. The content of the messages may be generated based on a variety of options, such as random, customized, or based on usage parameters, such as biometric, device settings, and temporal information.
Abstract:
Wireless sensor network motes and radar & sensor-based systems receive sensed data, compare it to a predetermined standard and generate a signal to deploy a corresponding response.
