    Abstract: Disclosed herein are a sheet-like connector that electrode structures each having a front-surface electrode part small in diameter can be formed, a stable electrically connected state can be surely achieved even to a circuit device, on which electrodes have been formed at a small pitch, and the electrode structures are prevented from falling off from an insulating sheet to achieve high durability, and a production process and applications thereof. The sheet-like connector of the invention has an insulating sheet and a plurality of electrode structures arranged in the insulating sheet and extending through in a thickness-wise direction of the insulating sheet. Each of the electrode structures is composed of a front-surface electrode part exposed to a front surfaces of the insulating sheet and projected from the front surface of the insulating sheet, a back-surface electrode part exposed to a back surface of the insulating sheet, a short circuit part continuously extending from the base end of the front-surface electrode part through the insulating sheet in the thickness-wise direction thereof and linked to the back-surface electrode part, and a holding part continuously extending from a base end portion of the front-surface electrode part outward along the front surface of the insulating sheet.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display device comprises a pair of substrates (1, 2) each having an electrode (13, 5), a liquid crystal layer held between the pair of substrates (1, 2) in which at least two kinds of projections (20, 21) having different projection heights are formed on one of the pair of substrates (1, 2) using the same material. These projections (20, 21) are obtained by the process comprising the steps, i.e., a resin film formation step of forming a projection resin film on the surface of one of the pair of substrates (1, 2) using photosensitive resin, and a projection formation step of simultaneously forming at least two types of projections (20, 21) having different projection heights on the substrate (2) using a photomask having variable transmittances and conducting exposure and development in such a manner that resulting thickness of the projection resin film can be varied. Thus, liquid crystal display devices comprising several kinds of projections having different heights accurately formed on the predetermined positions can be obtained.

    Abstract: An optical disk molding apparatus and method are provided which prevent data formed on a molded object from being damaged and prevent quality deterioration of the molded object. There are provided a mold moving device, a first gas supply device, and a controller, whereby a first release space part is formed by opening molds from a mold clamp state by a movement distance not damaging a data transferred face of the optical disk, and a gas is supplied to the first release space part at a point in time when the first release space part is formed, thereby totally separating the optical disk and a stamper from each other. No damage is caused to a data transferred face at the point in time when the first release space part is formed. Since separation between the optical disk and the stamper is performed via pressure of the gas after the first release space part is formed, data is prevented from being damaged over the data transferred face of the optical disk in its entirety.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display comprises an array substrate in which a common electrode, a pixel electrode, a scanning signal line, a video signal line and a semiconductor switching element are provided, an opposed substrate, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the array substrate and opposed substrate.     Abstract: A semiconductor wafer holder includes a contact part with a held object to be held. The contact part is constructed of a sintered silicon carbide substrate and then coated with a dense CVD silicon carbide film which has at least one crystal plane orientation out of the (111), (110), (220) and (200) planes in Miller indices to provide excellent grindability despite high hardness to withstand abrasive wear, thus facilitating surface grinding of the contact part into an ultra smooth and flat surface without dust and pit holes. This composite material has a large modulus of elasticity, a small specific gravity, and a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, creating high strength and little change in spite of exposure heat and maintaining dimensional stability in circuit printing. The sintered material together with the crystallized CVD silicon carbide film of the .beta. structure offers an electric resistance under 10.sup.10 .OMEGA..multidot.cm to provide high conductivity, thereby preventing static dust and facilitating cleaning up.
