Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer readable storage medium for multiple reference line intra prediction in video decoding. The method includes receiving, by a device, a coded video bitstream for a current block. The device includes a memory storing instructions and a processor in communication with the memory. The method also includes extracting, by the device, a parameter from the coded video bitstream, the parameter indicating a reference line for intra predication in the current block; partitioning, by the device, the current block to obtain a plurality of sub-blocks; and in response to a sub-block in the plurality of sub-blocks being located at a boundary of the current block, using, by the device, a top adjacent reference line as values for all top non-adjacent reference lines for the sub-block.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry. For example, the processing circuitry decodes prediction information of a current block from a coded video bitstream. The prediction information indicates that a prediction of the current block is at least partially based on an inter prediction. Then, the processing circuitry reconstructs at least a sample of the current block as a combination of a result from the inter prediction and neighboring samples of the block that are selected based on a position of the sample.

Abstract: A method includes determining whether at least one of a height or width of a residual coding block, that corresponds to a data block of an image, is greater than or equal to a threshold; and based on determining that the at least one of the height or width of the residual coding block is greater than or equal to the threshold: obtaining a reduced-complexity residual coding block based on the residual coding block and performing transform coding of the reduced-complexity residual coding block using a line graph transform (LGT) core to perform direct matrix multiplications for each of the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the reduced-complexity residual coding block, wherein the performing includes determining an order of performing horizontal and vertical transforms to the reduced-complexity residual coding block when zero-out is enabled on LGT, depending on a ratio of width to height of the residual coding block.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus including processing circuitry for video decoding. The processing circuitry decodes coded information for a transform block (TB) from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicates one of intra prediction mode information that indicates an intra prediction mode used for the TB, a size of the TB, and a primary transform type used for the TB. The processing circuitry determines a context for entropy decoding a secondary transform index based on the one of the intra prediction mode information for the TB, the size of the TB, and the primary transform type used for the TB. The secondary transform index indicates a secondary transform in a set of secondary transforms that is to be performed on the TB. The processing circuitry entropy decodes the secondary transform index based on the context and performs the secondary transform.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus including processing circuitry for video decoding. The processing circuitry can decode coding information of a transform block (TB) from a coded video bitstream. The coding information can indicate a transform skip in one direction for the TB. The processing circuitry can de-quantize transform coefficients in the TB based on a plurality of quantization steps. First transform coefficients in the TB can be de-quantized based on a smallest of the plurality of quantization steps. The first transform coefficients in the TB can include one of a first row and a first column of the transform coefficients in the TB that has a DC spatial frequency. The one of the first row and the first column can be along the one direction of the transform skip. The processing circuitry can perform an inverse transform on the de-quantized transform coefficients in the TB.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry that determines, from a coded video bitstream, a portion of a block is subject to a zero-out operation based on a threshold number of samples being less than a number of samples in one of a height dimension or a width dimension of the block. The processing circuitry determines whether a mixture of a lossless coding mode and one or more lossy coding modes is allowed in the coded video bitstream. The processing circuitry reconstructs the block based on the one or more lossy coding modes in response to (i) the mixture of the lossless coding mode and the one or more lossy coding modes being allowed in the coded video bitstream and (ii) the portion of the block being subject to the zero-out operation.
