Abstract: An apparatus for treating water with ozone includes a first conduit and a passageway for admitting ozone into the first conduit. There is a second conduit having a top, an inlet connected to the first conduit and an outlet. There is a third conduit having a top and a vertical portion extending downwardly adjacent to the outlet of the second conduit. The third conduit has a bottom with an outlet below the outlet of the second conduit. The outlet of the second conduit is no more than one-third the distance from the top of the third conduit to the outlet of the third conduit. There is a passageway connecting the third conduit to the first conduit above the outlet of the second conduit. The passageway is sized to permit a reduced flow of water through the third conduit compared to the flow through the second conduit and provides means for gas discharged from the outlet of the second conduit to rise through the vertical portion of the third conduit to increase dissolving of the gas in the water. There is a pump for pumping water with sufficient force from the outlet of the second conduit such that a stream of water and undissolved gas therefrom reaches a point at least one-half the distance from the outlet of the second conduit to the outlet of the third conduit.

Abstract: An ozonization system (100, 200 or 300) for washing and cleaning objects (71) is described. The system includes a container (110, 210 or 310), an ozonization unit (50) and a diffuser assembly. The container can be a standard kitchen sink, a commercial sink, enclosure (30) or an airtight box (410). The ozonization unit contains a pump (8), an ozone generator (6) and a water separator (162, 262 or 362) which are all controlled by a control circuit (5). The diffuser assembly in one embodiment is a diffuser wand assembly which fits within the standard spray opening (110A) of a kitchen sink. The diffuser tip (129) is inserted into the container and the ozone is diffused into the container through the diffuser tip. In another embodiment, the container has a diffuser plate (214 or 314) spaced apart from the bottom. The ozone is inserted into the gap (213 or 313) between the diffuser plate and the bottom of the container. The ozone is diffused from the gap through the diffuser plate into the container.

Abstract: A two-stage treatment process for destroying per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in an aqueous stream. The two-stage treatment process uses a combination of multifunctional crystalline molecular sieves, such as zeolites and zeotypes, to separate PFAS from the aqueous stream, catalytically decompose and defluorinate any PFAS molecules, and generate non-toxic waste products that are safe for disposal. The first stage includes adsorption of the PFAS within one of a pair of vessels containing porous, hydrophobic, hydrothermally stable molecular sieves, dehydration of the captured PFAS on the sieves, and catalytic ozonation of the captured PFAS molecules on the dried sieves. The second stage involves catalytic decomposition and neutralization of the ozonation results with one of a pair of vessels including a zeolite-supported CaO catalyst, catalytic oxidation of any toxic CO generated by the decomposition, and an acid wash for regeneration of the spent catalyst.

An outer surface of the connecting unit has at least a first annular groove, and an elastic ring is disposed in the first annular groove.
