Abstract: A submersible water desalination apparatus includes a plurality of water separation membrane elements, a product water collector that receives product water from the membrane elements, and a variable output motorized submersible pump having a suction side that receives product water from the product water collector and a discharge side that pumps product water away from the apparatus through a product water conduit for surface or subsurface use. At least a portion of the product water is used to lubricate and optionally also cool at least a portion of the pump, motor or both the pump and motor.

Abstract: A portable water conditioning system is provided that includes an incoming water inlet; a reverse osmosis stage in fluid communication with the incoming water inlet, the reverse osmosis stage having a permeate outlet and a concentrate outlet; a diversion device having a diversion valve, the diversion valve placing the concentrate outlet in fluid communication with a waste water outlet; a deionizing stage in fluid communication with a pure water outlet; a bypass valve configured to selectively place the permeate outlet in fluid communication with one or more of the waste water outlet, the deionizing stage, and the pure water outlet; and a controller configured to control the diversion device and the bypass valve to provide water at the pure water outlet of a desired condition.

Abstract: A hydrodynamic cavitation unit, disc, or producer for a hydrodynamic cavitation device is provided. The hydrodynamic cavitation device is configured for fluid communication with an inlet conduit and an outlet conduit. The hydrodynamic cavitation unit, disc, or producer includes a body; and a plurality of lumens through the body. Each of the lumens is configured for fluid communication from the inlet conduit, through the body, and to the outlet conduit. A ratio of a total cross-sectional area of the lumens within the hydrodynamic cavitation disc to a cross-sectional area of the inlet conduit is greater than or equal to about 1:1 upstream of a hydrodynamic cavitation promotion zone and constricts below about 1:1 within the hydrodynamic cavitation promotion zone. A cap is located downstream of the inlet conduit and upstream of the hydrodynamic cavitation producer. Related methods of manufacturing, apparatuses, systems, techniques, and articles are also described.

Abstract: According to some embodiments, a system for desalination of a liquid comprises at least one primary treatment process, at least one secondary treatment process, wherein the at least one secondary treatment process comprises at least one reactor, and at least one tertiary treatment process, wherein the at least one primary treatment process is configured to adjust a pH of the liquid to target pH level and to add at least one chemical additive to the liquid, wherein the at least one reactor is configured to heat the liquid to a temperature of at least 350° F. and to supply a pressure to the liquid to maintain the liquid in a liquid state, and wherein the dissolved salt of the liquid is configured to react with at least a portion of the at least one chemical additive to form an insoluble product within the at least one reactor.

Abstract: A system for water desalination and power generation. The system includes a power generation section and a desalination section. The power generation section includes a first tank, a second tank, and a first channel. The desalination section includes a third tank, a fourth tank, and a second channel. The system utilizes waste energy in power plants to desalinate water and generate power. The disclosed system is able to improve the performance of power plants, by utilizing the wasted power of the exit steam, to desalinate seawater and even generate electricity. The disclosed system alleviates requirements for cooling towers and introduces thermal exchange tanks, radiators, and sprinkles instead of cooling towers.
