Abstract:
An image forming system, including: an image forming apparatus and a post processing device, wherein the image forming apparatus includes; a printer section, a control means, a selecting device to select one of a single sided print mode and a double sided print mode, and the post processing device includes; a sheet supplying tray, a conveyance route, and a post processing means, wherein the control means controls to count the page number to be assigned onto plural sheets of recording media, using a different counting value, based on the selected print mode.
Abstract:
A digital capture system, such as a digital still camera or digital video recorder, has an embedded real-time content-based analysis function in the capture device to extract metadata from the digital signals. In one embodiment, metadata (descriptive information about the digital content) is formatted and stored separately from the content. In another embodiment, the metadata may be formatted and combined with the digital content in a container format such as MPEG-7, QuickTime, or FlashPix.
Abstract:
An integrated workflow for commercial printing with a closed-loop communication link between designer and print service provider locations. The present invention provides a method, program product and system for managing workflow in a commercial printing environment including a designer location and a print service provider location, where the method comprises establishing a closed-loop communication link between the designer location and the print service provider location, creating a press ready file at the designer location using updated device configuration information received from the print service provider location via said closed-loop communication link, submitting the press ready file to the print service provider location via the closed-loop communication link, and performing at least one of automated printing, finishing, packaging and shipping using the press ready file.
Abstract:
IFAX determines whether IFAX transmission processing or network scanner processing should be performed based on whether a start button or a scanner button is pressed on after an operator inputs a destination mail address. In a case of performing IFAX transmission processing, a journal is superimposed on an original image and e-mail is transmitted to the IFAX via a mail server. While, in a case of performing network scanner processing, the IFAX does not perform the creation of journal, bitmapping, compression, and combination with the original image. Therefore, the original image can be transferred to a PC without superimposing the journal thereon. This prevents the trouble in which the journal hinders the PC from dealing with the original image.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of processing scanned pages are described. In one aspect, the invention features a method of processing a sequence of scanned pages of a document in accordance with which, page number indicators are extracted from scanned pages of the document. A histogram of extracted page number indicators is computed. Scanned page sequence information is determined based at least in part on the computed histogram. A computer program and a system for implementing the scanned page processing method also are described.
Abstract:
An electronic camera which photographs images of an object, outputs image signals corresponding to the images, and stores the image signals with an assigned file name. A display on the electronic camera displays images corresponding to the stored image signals. Along with each displayed image signal, the electronic camera's display also displays the assigned file name and a frame number. If a user chooses to delete a particular image, the frame numbers for stored image signals following the deleted image are advanced by one, in order to maintain an unbroken numerical sequence. The file names assigned to each stored image signal will remain unchanged.
Abstract:
Automated process for producing booklets from digital documents associated with these booklets and having to be printed beforehand, wherein firstly the number of pages in the booklet to be bound is determined on the basis of the recognition of first control signals extracted from the associated digital document, then, if this number is greater than the predetermined maximum number of elementary booklets which is then appropriate to create in order to form the booklet to be bound, on the one hand, and the number of pages in each,of these elementary booklets, on the other hand, are determined and, finally, each of the elementary booklets thus determined is printed and then bound, separately and successively. The number of pages in each of the elementary booklets is determined on the basis of the recognition of second control signals extracted from the digital document.
Abstract:
A facsimile server device that can append TTI information to facsimile data in various manners. The facsimile server device is connected to a plurality of data processing devices such as client PCs over LAN, and is adapted to send facsimile data to a designated remote communication device upon instructions from a data processing device. The facsimile server device includes CPU, a keyboard or mouse and a display to set TTI information. TTI information may contain information about recipient, sender, time and page. The facsimile server device stores the TTI in RAM. TTI information in a certain form may also be provided from a data processing device. The TTI information programmed in the facsimile server device or the TTI information sent from the data processing device is given priority and appended to the facsimile data.
Abstract:
An apparatus for controlling a recording device includes a first input section for inputting image information items with respect to an object, and a second input section for inputting a change signal representing a change of the object. A first memory stores a plurality of the image information items inputted by the first input section, and a control section selects at least one of the image information items stored in the first memory and for controlling the recording device to record the at least one selected image information item on a recording sheet, responsive to the input of the change signal by the second input section.
Abstract:
An electronic still video camera having a built-in memory for storing a plurality of frames of image data, and a removable memory for storing a plurality of frames of image data. At least one of the plurality of frames of image data stored in the built-in memory is selected. The selected plurality of frames of image data stored in the built-in memory are then transferred to the removable
