Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing Lomitapide or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof having high purity with acceptable levels of impurities.
Abstract:
A hydraulic lash adjuster having a reduced number of elements, yet capable of suppressing air from infusing into a high-pressure chamber. A plunger is fitted in a body. A reservoir is formed in the plunger. The plunger's head portion is formed with a communication hole for communicating its interior with its exterior. A high-pressure chamber is disposed and between the plunger and the body. An oil supply hole is formed in the peripheral wall of the plunger. A return spring is provided between the body and the plunger. A valve mechanism is provided at the plunger's bottom. Provided on the inner periphery of the plunger is an inclined area, subjected to impingement of oil jet ji and serving as an impingement area, such that the impingement area is inclined to fall in the direction of the ejected oil as the area nears the plunger's head portion.
Abstract:
A hydraulic valve lifter apparatus including a seal at the interface of a pushrod seat and a pushrod is provided herein. In one form, the hydraulic valve lifter apparatus includes a body, a piston slidably disposed within the body including a pushrod seat for contacting a pushrod, and a seal located between the pushrod seat and the pushrod.
Abstract:
A switchable valve train member, such as a deactivating valve lash adjuster or a deactivating hydraulic valve lifter, including a pin housing slidably disposed within an axial bore in a body. A transverse bore in the pin housing contains a retractable locking pin that engages a feature in the body including a locking surface whereby the body and the pin housing are locked together for mutual actuation by rotation of a cam lobe. A lash ring at the outer end of the body includes a portion extending into the axial bore that limits the travel of the pin housing within the body and thereby sets the internal mechanical lash in the switchable member. The axial thickness of the lash ring may be varied between assemblies to compensate for manufacturing variation in the components and is secured to the body in any of various configurations.
Abstract:
An auxiliary check valve is provided in a hydraulic lash adjuster of the type wherein the plunger-to-body clearance is sealed. The auxiliary check valve is derived so that it remains open until the plunger has been moved to the limit of its travel by rotation of the engine camshaft during engine assembly. The auxiliary check valve permits fluid within the hydraulic lash adjuster high pressure chamber to be displaced to the reservoir chamber allowing the hydraulic lash adjuster to shorten from its free length to the proper installed length.
Abstract:
The freely rotatable hydraulic pivot element for an internal combustion engine has four oil inlets which are in fluid communication with the lash adjusting element inside the pivot element and in fluid communication with the oil gallery by using four more equally spaced oil inlets in the outer housing of the cylinder head while still in fluid communication therein. The use of four or more oil inlets are in the same radial plane of the outside cylindrical housing of the pivot element.
Abstract:
A valve-deactivation hydraulic valve lifter including a recessed face on the pin housing for making contact with the a crowned surface region of a roller follower. The lifter includes a pin housing that is slidably disposed within an axial bore in a lifter body. Pins for variably locking the pin housing to the lifter body may be disengaged to place the lifter in lost-motion mode by application of engine oil to the outer ends of the pins. A surface of the pin housing, preferably configured as a dished surface, is formed on the bottom end face of the pin housing that approaches the cam-following lifter roller for making contact with the roller follower so as to avoid contacting the roller follower's crowned surface region.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hydraulic valve-lash-adjusting element, having a plunger (1), in the plunger head (2) of which a control valve (5) is arranged, this control valve (5) controlling a central axial bore (6) which connects a low-pressure space (4), arranged above the plunger head (2), to a high-pressure space (3) arranged below the plunger head (2), the control valve (5) having a valve-closing body (7) which is loaded in the opening direction by a valve-body spring (17) and as a result passes from a cylinder-ring-shaped sealing surface (8) arranged on the plunger head (2) to a travel-limit surface (9) of a centre piece (24), whereas the closing of the control valve (5) is effected by displacement of oil from the high-pressure space (3) into the low-pressure space (4). According to the invention, the valve-closing body (7) reaches the sealing surface (8) on a linear path without lateral movement or rotation of said valve-closing body (7) by virtue of the fact that a circular-cylindrical and axially parallel guide surface connected to the plunger head (2) is provided, this guide surface enclosing a corresponding guide line (40) of the valve-closing body (7) with guide clearance.
Abstract:
An anti-rotation guide for a deactivation hydraulic valve lifter for an internal combustion engine. The guide includes a through bore accommodating of a hydraulic valve lifter and is sized such that the outer end of the lifter may be inserted into the through bore of the guide. The guide is securable to the engine such that the lifter is reciprocable within the guide. The guide is provided with two opposing keepers for mating with corresponding flats on the lifter to prevent rotation of the lifter. Further, a keyway means is provided in the guide and lifter to prevent the lifter being inserted into the guide 180° from the correct orientation.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine having a valve train that includes a switchable cam follower is provided. The cam follower (20) has a generally cylindrical shape and can move longitudinally in a receptacle (21) of the engine (22), and is acted upon at one axial end by a cam (23) of a camshaft and at the other axial end indirectly or directly by a gas exchange valve of the valve train. A main oil gallery (24) is arranged in the internal combustion engine (22) for introducing hydraulic medium to a valve lash adjustment element arranged in the cam follower (20). A switchable oil channel (25) is arranged in the internal combustion engine (22) for introducing hydraulic medium into a region of a switch element arranged in the cam follower (20), wherein, the outer surface of the cam follower (20) has a helical groove (26), through which at a peripheral point of the cam follower (20) the switchable oil channel (25) is connected hydraulically to the region of the switch element which opens at another peripheral point of the cam follower (20).
