Abstract:
A treadmill for providing walking rehabilitation to a rehabilitee is provided including a base including a belt and a walking rehabilitation device interconnected with the base. The walking rehabilitation device includes a user engagement structure extending at least partially above the belt and being configured to be removably secured relative to one or more locations of a rehabilitee's lower extremities. The walking rehabilitation device further includes a plurality of drive systems coupled to the user engagement structure. The drive systems include at least a first drive system controlling the rehabilitee's motion in a first direction and a second drive system controlling the rehabilitee's motion in a second direction. The treadmill further includes one or more motors coupled to and driving the plurality of drive systems. The motion from the drive systems is transferred to the rehabilitee by the user engagement structure, allowing the rehabilitee to walk along the belt.
Abstract:
The massage mechanism includes inner treatment elements, outer treatment elements and a driving device that drives the treatment elements. A distance between the inner treatment elements and the outer treatment elements is changed by the driving device. A first supporting shaft supports the inner and the outer treatment elements and is rotated about an axial center by the driving device. The first supporting shaft includes inner inclined shafts that support the inner treatment elements via an arm and outer inclined shafts that support the outer treatment elements via the arm. The massage mechanism is configured to be movable from a backrest part to a footrest part via a seat part.
Abstract:
A CPM chair for repeatedly flexing and extending a patient's knee permits a patient to remain comfortably seated while controlling therapeutic knee flexure and extension. A slide member is longitudinally reciprocal between extended and retracted positions with its slide direction controlled by the patent. A drum has an endless cable wrapped about its periphery and is rotated in alternate directions by a reversible electrical motor. The cable extends over respective forward and rearward pulleys and is secured to the slide member. A pedal assembly supports the patient's foot and is pivotally secured to the slide member to accommodate different positions of the patient's heel. Control switches are actuable by the patient to control slide member direction.
Abstract:
This apparatus for mobilization of the body comprises a receiving platform which is movable in relation to a fixed chassis, and which is designed to support a subject who is to be treated in a standing position. The platform is connected to the chassis by a double pivot connection, and it is driven by an oscillating movement in relation to an axis passing substantially through its centre, by means of actuators each connected by a pivot connection to a shaft connected to said platform, said actuators themselves being articulated on the chassis.
Abstract:
Disclosed are devices capable of performing a massage and wash on a scalp or massage on an affected area gently and effectively by a brush section or a treating section thereof. A plurality of projections are integrally formed on a surface of a flexible body plate of brush section, so that the projections are symmetrical with respect to an axis line A and an axis line D of the projection is perpendicular with the surface of the body plate. An edge of the body plate is fixed on a frame. A motor serving as a drive section is activated allowing a reciprocating drive means to repeatedly deform the body plate coupled thereto between an upwardly-deflected curved concave position and a downwardly-deflected curved convex position along the axis line A, thereby allowing each distance among a plurality of the projections to open and close-repeatedly to provide an repetitive action of kneading and pushing/stretching the scalp. Accordingly, the scalp massage and the scalp and hair wash are achieved.
Abstract:
A pelvic support unit is coupled to a base by a powered vertical force actuator mechanism. A torso support unit, which is affixed to the patient independently of the pelvic support unit, is connected to the base by one or more powered articulations which are actuable around respective axes of motion. Sensors sense the linear and angular displacement of the pelvic support unit and the torso support unit. A control unit is coupled to these sensors and, responsive to signals from them, selectively control the displacement actuator and articulation(s).
Abstract:
A compact and easy-to-use walking assisting device capable of reducing constrained feeling given to a user and allowing a free swing of the arms of the user in walking. The walking assisting device comprises one or more leg links to which ground contact members are connected at their lower ends respectively and a load transfer portion connected to the upper ends of the leg links, in which at least a part of the weight of the user is supported by the leg links via the load transfer portion, wherein the load transfer portion includes a seat member for the user to sit astride, wherein connecting portions with the upper ends of the leg links connected thereto are attached to the undersurface of the seat member, and wherein the connecting portions have a degree of freedom allowing the forward/backward and lateral swings of the leg links.
Abstract:
A walking assistance device has a drive mechanism for driving a third joint of a leg link of the walking assistance device, the drive mechanism including a crank arm secured to a lower link member and a linear-motion actuator which has a linear-motion output shaft connected to the crank arm. The angle formed by a straight line connecting a joint axis of the third joint and a connecting portion of the linear-motion output shaft relative to the crank arm and a straight line which passes the connecting portion and which is parallel to the axial center of the linear-motion output shaft changes from an angle closer to the straight angle toward an angle closer to the right angle as the flexion degree of the leg link is increased from a flexion degree corresponding to a state wherein a user is in an upright posture.
Abstract:
A wearable device (10) to assist with the movement of limbs (50, 51) connected at a joint (52), the device (50) comprising: a linear motion generating unit (20) to generate linear motion, the unit (20) having distal end portions operatively connected to the limbs (50, 51), whereby the linear motion generated by the unit (20) causes the limbs (50, 51) to move and pivot about the joint (52); a force measuring unit (30) to measure a change of force applied to the limbs or linear motion generating unit (20); and a displacement measuring unit (40) to measure the displacement of the linear motion generating unit (20) when linear motion is generated; wherein a predetermined distance of linear motion having a predetermined velocity is generated by the linear motion generating unit (20) to assist with the movement of the limbs (50, 51) based on the change of force measured by the force measuring unit (30) or the displacement measured by the displacement measuring unit (40).
