A reaction system and method for preparing compounds or intermediates from solid reactant materials is provided. In a specific aspect, a reaction system and methods are provided for preparation of boron-containing precursor compounds useful as precursors for ion implantation of boron in substrates. In another specific aspect, a reactor system and methods are provided for manufacture of boron precursors such as B2F4.

Heating reaction container comprises: a first member; a second member; and a third member. An opening is closed by the second member being detachably fitted in the first member and by the third member being detachably fitted in the second member. α1, α2, and α3 satisfy a relation of α3>α2>α1, α3=α2>α1, or α3>α2=α1, where α1 represents a thermal expansion coefficient of a first material of the first member, α2 represents a thermal expansion coefficient of a second material of the second member, and α3 represents a thermal expansion coefficient of a third material of the third member. A gap is present before heating, and a space is sealed, through the heating, by a first contact surface coming into intimate contact with a second contact surface and by a third contact surface coming into intimate contact with a fourth contact surface.
Abstract:
Examples of a device for gettering and surface conditioning are disclosed. The device comprises an elongated tube with a closed first end, a second end and a body extending between the first end and the second end. The body defines an inner cavity of the tube in which a heating device is inserted. The tube is inserted into a vessel so that the first end is positioned within the vessel. A solid metal is mounted closely to the tube in a region surrounding the heating device and a meshed screen is mounted over the solid metal and secured to the tube. When the heating device is on, the heat transfers through the tube's wall into the solid metal melting and vaporizing it, so that the metal vapors travel and coat onto vessel's surfaces. The device can also be used in producing metal alloys such as lead lithium alloys.

A sealing device for sealing a rotatable shaft of a gas compressor and/or a gas expander may include first and second sealing chambers and an extraction unit. The first sealing chamber may surround the rotatable shaft and include an inlet for the supply of a sealing medium. The second sealing chamber may be separated from the first sealing chamber by a seal and may surround the rotatable shaft. The second sealing chamber may include an outlet for the discharge of the sealing medium. The extraction device may extract the sealing medium out of the second sealing chamber. The present disclosure also concerns a corresponding method. Still further, the present disclosure concerns an installation for producing nitric acid with a NO compressor and a residual gas expander as well as a corresponding method. The NO compressor and/or the residual gas expander may have such a sealing device.

Both a system and method for cleaning a low pressure separation vessel of a high pressure polyethylene polymerization plant are provided. The system includes a polytetrafluoroethylene lining that covers the interior surfaces of the vessel, and a cover mounting assembly including an annular clamp for detachably mounting a cover over the vessel. The mounting assembly includes a clamp actuator for quickly securing and releasing the cover with respect to a top rim of the vessel. The vessel is drained of liquid polyethylene and allowed to cool to ambient temperature, thus creating a frozen “skin” of polyethylene around the interior surfaces of the vessel. The clamp actuator releases the cover. The polyethylene skin is peeled off the interior sides the vessel and gathered up at the top to form a neck, thus peeling the polyethylene skin away from the polytetrafluoroethylene lining along with any degraded polymers or other impurities that have accumulated on the interior surfaces of the vessel.

Provided is a constant-temperature device which comprises conveyance mechanism and which can operate stably over a long period of time even when installed in an atmosphere of a sterilization gas having strong oxidative properties, such as hydrogen peroxide gas, or a high temperature environment during dry-heat sterilization operations. A drive unit for a rotatably operated specimen table (10) on which a specimen is placed, in an incubation chamber, is arranged outside of the incubation chamber, and the drive-force from the drive unit is transmitted by means of magnetic coupling. Furthermore, ring-shaped seal packing (22), in which a lip (24) is formed, is arranged above and below a base plate (13) provided to the specimen plate (10), and a seal plate (23) is arranged along the entire perimeter of the base plate (13) at the portion which makes contact with the lip (24), thus a bearing (17) and/or a drive portion are isolated from high-temperature atmospheres and in-chamber atmospheres having strong oxidative properties, preventing damage due to high temperatures or sterilization gas.

There are provided a cluster of thin sheet graphite crystals or the like which is useful as an electrode material for lithium ion batteries, hybrid capacitors and the like, and a method for efficiently producing the same at high productivity. The method is one for producing a cluster of thin sheet graphite crystals composed of aggregates in such a state that thin sheet graphite crystals extend from the inside toward the outside, comprising charging a powdery and/or particulate material of an organic compound pre-baked to an extent of containing remaining hydrogen in a graphite vessel, and subjecting the powdery and/or particulate material together with the vessel to hot isostatic pressing treatment (HIP treatment) using a compressed gas atmosphere under the predetermined conditions.

A method of conducting microwave-assisted high pressure high temperature chemistry is disclosed. The method includes the steps of digesting a sample in a strong acid at a temperature of at least 200° C. in a pressure resistant vessel that includes a lid while exerting a defined force against the lid in order to maintain gases under pressure in the vessel; directing gas under excess pressure from the vessel into a circumferential passage defined by the vessel and its pressure resistant lid; and directing the gas from the circumferential passage outwardly from the lid while preventing gas from flowing outwardly over the edge of the vessel.
