Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a coating composition, such as a substantially clear coating composition, which comprises (1) an alkoxysilane, (2) a polysiloxane, (3) a plurality of particles, and (4) curing agent that is reactive with the polysiloxane. The coating composition of the present invention can exhibit increased physical properties, such as scratch resistance, when compared to similar coating compositions that lack the components disclosed herein.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a curable composition that provides high hardness and can be used in adhesives and coating agents. This object can be achieved by a curable composition containing: 100 parts by weight of a reactive silyl group-containing organic polymer (A) that has a number average molecular weight of 2,000 to 6,000 and contains 1.3 to 5 reactive silyl groups per molecule; and 0 to 40 parts by weight of a plasticizer (C). This curable composition is suitable for flooring adhesives and tile adhesives, which require high hardness.
Abstract:
Weather resistant and water repellent surfacing compositions especially useful in roofing applications contain an alkoxysilane-terminated polymer and a reactive silane plasticizer containing a C6-40 hydrocarbon group. The surfacing compositions are of low viscosity and may be used without non-reactive plasticizers or organic solvents.
Abstract:

The hydrophilic coating composition has (A) a ternary copolymer having a1) a repeating unit having a hydrophilic group, a2) a repeating unit having a hydroxyl group, an epoxy group, an isocyanato group, a blocked isocyanato group, a carboxylic acid anhydride group, or an amino group, and a3) a repeating unit having a hydrolyzable silyl group; and (B) a metal complex catalyst, wherein a content of the repeating unit a1) having a hydrophilic group is 50 mol % or greater.
Abstract:
A curable film-forming coating composition, typically a clearcoat, having improved compatibility over waterborne and solventborne basecoats. The composition includes a film-forming binder comprising a carbamate material, a curing agent, typically a monomeric melamine curing agent, and a hydroxy functional silane component. When used as a clearcoat over a standard pigmented basecoat, the resulting coating provides a substantially wrinkle free appearance and excellent adhesion to both waterborne and solventborne basecoats.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a multicomponent, isocyanate-terminated or silane-functionalized coating and adhesive material which is continuously produced by mixing the individual components and by heating the latter and continuing mixing until said components reach a liquid state, wherein the resulting reactive coating and adhesive material is fed for direct use especially in profile sheathing plants, coating plants or the like. In the case of isocyanate-terminated material, one component has a reactive high-molecular weight starting polymer and a second component has a reactive isocyanate-terminated cross-linking agent. In the case of the silane- functionalized material, one component has a high-molecular weight starting material and a second component has a reactive, silane-functionalized cross-linking agent.
Abstract:
Curable compositions capable of giving a cured article excellent in weatherability and flam retardancy. (1) One of the curable compositions comprises an organic polymer having at least one crosslinkable hydrolysable silyl group and phyllosilicate. It has enhanced weatherability due to incorporation of the phyllosilicate, and has further enhanced weatherability because the bleeding of an ultraviolet absober and a light stabilizer is inhibited. (2) The other composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a urethane resin, epoxy resin, and/or modified polysulfide resin and 0.1 to 100 parts of weight of a phyllosilicate. It has enhanced weatherability due to incorporation of phyllosilicate, and has further enhanced weatherability because the bleeding of an ultraviolet absorber and a light stabilizer is inhibited.
