Abstract:
An applique is provided that includes a fluoropolymer backing, an adhesive on one of the surfaces of the backing and a urethane coating layer on the other surface of the backing.
Abstract:
A flexible pressure-sensitive food grade wrap film, and a process for manufacturing the film. The film includes a substrate overcoated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive, a release overprinted on the adhesive that prevents the adhesive from clinging to the surface of an article or to itself without applying pressure, and, optionally, a release coating on the opposite side of the substrate. Once pressure is applied to the film, the film flexibility allows the adhesive to contact the surface of the article or itself and subsequently adhere to hold the film in place or to form a sealed pouch around an article. The pressure-activated contact and adhesion to an article or to itself are designed to form a tight, spill-resistant physical bond that seals liquid or solid contents in a container, or forms a sealed pouch around a solid article.
Abstract:
A single- or double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape having an elastomeric backing layer, characterized in that a) the framework substance of the backing layer consists of natural rubber or of a mixture of natural rubber and at least one styrene-butadiene rubber, b) an essential constituent of the backing layer is an electron beam-crosslinkable, polyfunctional crosslinker, c) a pressure-sensitive adhesive is applied to one or both sides of the backing layer, and d) between backing layer and pressure-sensitive adhesive there is an interlayer of a polyamide or of a mixture of polyamides.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a multilayer sheet comprising a polymeric film having on a first major side a cross-linked polyurethane layer, the major part of said cross-linked polyurethane layer comprising a polycarbonate based polyurethane containing acid groups and cross-linked with a cross-linker, the polycarbonate-based polyurethane comprising the reaction product of a polycarbonate polyol or a polycarbonate polyamine and an aliphatic polyisocyanate and the uncross-linked polycarbonate-based polyurethane having a Koenig hardness of at least 150 seconds.
Abstract:
Novel duct tapes comprising a water-impermeable sheet backing carrying, in order, a cloth material and an adhesive layer, wherein the backing is a coextruded laminate which, in the preferred case, incorporates a release agent in the lamina on the surface opposite the adhesive.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to correction tapes having dye migration blocking properties. More specifically, the present invention includes a correction tape having a dye migration barrier. The dye migration barrier comprises an organic material that serves as a physical barrier to prevent dye from migrating from the lower corrected layer to the visible surface. Additionally, the present invention is directed to a process for the manufacture of a correction tape having a dye migration barrier.
Abstract:
A wound roll suitable as a packaging material contains in order a release coating, a flexible polyester film, an adhesive, a flexible polymeric film support and a cold seal adhesive.
Abstract:
Film-forming means are coextruded to form all plastic multilayer liners and facestocks for pressure-sensitive labels, tapes, decals, signs, bumper stickers, and other products formed from sheet and roll stock. Fill means in a charge for the liner coextrusion affects stiffness and dimensional stability of the liner and/or affects the roughness of a liner face or faces. The film materials of the layers of the constructions are selected according to the cost/benefit characteristics of candidate materials considering the functional or operational requirements of the layer in question.

Abstract:
A multi-cycle refastenable contact responsive non-tacky fastener system and method of use with a field of a contact responsive fastening layer having essentially no surface tack. The fastening layer is multiply releasable and refastenable against a non-tacky target surface, and has substantially constant 90.degree. peel strength of less than about 5 kN/m when in contact with the target surface. A mounting layer comprises a field of a pressure sensitive adhesive onto which the field of the contact responsive layer is directly attached.
