Abstract: A lock release control device for an opening and closing body configured to control an opening and closing body that opens and closes an opening portion of a vehicle. The opening and closing body comes into contact with a sealing member provided on a vehicle body side of the vehicle in a fully closed state. The vehicle includes a locking device and an opening and closing actuator. The locking device restrains the opening and closing body in a fully closed position. The opening and closing actuator displaces the opening and closing body by rotation of a motor to change the opening and closing body from one of two states including an open state and a closed state to another of the states. The lock release control device is configured to execute an open command acquisition process, a pull-in process, and a lock release process.

Abstract: A safety cabinet includes an enclosure and at least one door to selectively seal the enclosure. The safety cabinet can be used to store, for example, flammable liquids, flammable waste, corrosives, pesticides, or combustible waste. The safety cabinet incorporates a thermally-actuated damper that includes a body, a valve plate, and a pivot assembly. The valve plate is disposed within the passage of the body such that the valve plate is movable between an open position and a closed position. The pivot assembly includes a biasing system adapted to bias the valve plate to the closed position and a fusible link interconnected between the body and the biasing system to constrain the valve plate from moving from the open position to the closed position. The fusible link is configured to melt at a predetermined temperature to thereby allow the biasing system to move the valve plate to the closed position.

Abstract: Provided is a hinge that includes a first leaf assembly including a first front leaf component coupled to a first rear leaf component for accommodating therebetween a portion of a panel having a first pair of holes. A first pair of fasteners may extend between the first front and rear leaf components and through the pair of holes in the panel to clamp the portion of the panel to the first leaf assembly. A second leaf assembly, hingedly coupled to the first leaf assembly about a hinge axis, may include a second front leaf component coupled to a second rear leaf component for accommodating therebetween a portion of a second panel having a second pair of holes. A second pair of fasteners may extend between the second front and rear leaf components and through the pair of holes in the second panel to clamp the portion of the second panel to the second leaf assembly. A spring may be coupled to the first and second leaf assemblies to bias the first and second leaf assemblies to move from an open position to a closed position. A dampener having a longitudinal axis may slow movement of the first and second leaf assemblies to the closed position, wherein the longitudinal axis of the dampener is located between the hinge axis and the first panel.

Abstract: An emergency door closing device that can be installed upon existing doors and hinges to automatically close doors in the response to smoke and fire. The improvements incorporated therein include a hinge cam pivot member that attaches to an existing hinge member of a door and produces a moment force about the existing hinge member allowing a reduced force necessary to pivot the door into a closed position. Further, a novel spring, cam, and lever system is incorporated to activate the moment force to close the door.

Abstract: A combination door operator assembly and door, wherein the door operator assembly includes an operator unit mounted to the door on the pushing side thereof, an arm linkage having a driving arm and a driven arm, a second mounting bracket preferably on the frame of the door, a rechargeable power storage pack having at least one of a rechargeable battery and one or more capacitors, and a controller, for monitoring a speed and a position of the door, wherein when the door moves faster than a predetermined speed, the motor is used as a generator to charge the rechargeable power storage pack and the speed of the door is reduced.
