Abstract:
An information processing apparatus which is capable of preventing unauthorized access from an external apparatus, such as a PC, and improving user-friendliness. A wired communication section and a wireless communication section receive requests for acquiring screen data from external apparatuses. When a request is received via wireless communication, a CPU determines whether or not a security method used for the wireless communication is a predetermined security method. When the CPU determines that the security method is not the predetermined security method, the CPU and an operation panel cause screen data responsive to the received request to be transmitted to the external apparatus on condition that a predetermined input operation is performed on the operation panel.
Abstract:
A computer allowing a user to use, even when the printing device is changed, a new printing device in a state close to a familiar environment of use is provided. The computer includes a determining unit determining whether an existing environment for using another electronic device used for the same usage as the new electronic device has been set in the computer. The computer further includes a setting unit selectively executing a process for setting an environment for using the new electronic device in the computer using the existing environment as a reference, and a process for setting a default setting for using the new electronic device in the computer, depending on a result of determination.
Abstract:
A terminal apparatus may receive first information relating to a first function executing apparatus from the first function executing apparatus. The first function executing apparatus may be configured to execute a print function. The terminal apparatus may cause a display mechanism of the terminal apparatus to display a first image indicating M1 items of communication schemes by using the first information. Each of the M1 items of communication schemes may be a communication scheme available for the first function executing apparatus to receive print data.
Abstract:
A control point includes a communication interface to search for one or more image forming apparatuses using digital living network alliance (DLNA), a user interface unit through which at least one piece of content is selected for printing using a user interface of the control point, and through which an image forming apparatus is selected from among the searched image forming apparatuses to perform printing, a DLNA stack unit to set a connection policy regarding connection to the selected image forming apparatus, and to selectively control the DLNA connection status to the selected image forming apparatus according to the connection policy, and a controller to control the communication interface to transmit print data corresponding to the selected content-for-printing and the connection policy to the selected image forming apparatus.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a reading unit, a receiving unit, an image forming unit, a fixing unit, and a control unit. The reading unit generates generated image data indicating the image. The receiving unit receives external image data. The image forming unit forms, by using a recording agent, an image on a sheet based on the generated or external image data. The fixing unit fixes the recording agent on the sheet. The control unit controls to start raising a temperature of the fixing unit at a first timing, where a copy process is executed. The control unit controls to start raising the temperature of the fixing unit at a second timing, which is later than the first timing, where a printing process is executed.
Abstract:
A multifunction peripheral 1 includes a communication portion 102, a control portion 101, a certified reference time storage portion 103, and a determining portion 104. A communication portion 102 receives a total maintenance time stored in a communication terminal unit 31 from the communication terminal unit 31. A control portion 101 switches its operation mode between a maintenance mode and a normal operation mode to activate the multifunction peripheral 1. A certified reference time storage portion 103 stores a certified reference time that permits switching to the maintenance mode. A determining portion 104 determines whether the total maintenance time has reached the certified reference time. When it is determined that the total maintenance time has reached the certified reference time by the determining portion 104, the control portion 101 switches the multifunction peripheral 1 to the maintenance mode to activate the multifunction peripheral 1.
Abstract:
Image processing systems include image processing apparatuses and information processing apparatuses. Image processing apparatuses include image processing devices, which perform image processing for printing print image data, generating scanning image data, or both; and first and second communication devices, which communicate using first and second communication protocols, respectively. Information processing apparatuses include third and fourth communication devices, which communicate using the first and second communication protocols, respectively. First and third communication devices communicate therebetween using the first communication protocol to transmit connection information. Image processing apparatuses, information processing apparatuses, or both determine whether an image transmission condition for transferring the image data between second and fourth communication devices is satisfied. Second and fourth communication devices use connection information to establish communication therebetween using the second communication protocol in response to the determining that the image transmission condition is satisfied and transmit the image data therebetween using the second communication protocol.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a first acquiring unit and a selecting unit. The first acquiring unit acquires information on respective communication capacities of a plurality of transmitters with a facsimile communication function and communication capacity of a partner device to be in facsimile communication with the transmitter. The selecting unit selects a transmitter having communication capacity that is the same as or closest to the communication capacity of the partner device from the plurality of transmitters.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus has a connection terminal for connecting and disconnecting a plug-in device, which is configured to be plugged into the connection terminal. The image forming apparatus includes a driver controller that activates a device driver corresponding to the plug-in device in accordance with detection of insertion of the plug-in device. The device driver establishes a connection with an application in response to a connection request from the application that uses the plug-in device.
Abstract:
A technique for providing a first information processing apparatus configured to acquire first identification information as information for identifying the information processing apparatus, searching for a second information processing apparatus capable of wireless communication, acquiring a second identification information as information for identifying the second information processing apparatus that was found, comparing the first identification information and the second identification information, changing the first identification information when the first identification information and the second identification information are identical, and notifying when the first identification information is changed.
