Abstract:
An apparatus is capable of transmitting a signal through a Random Access Channel in a wireless communication system. The method of transmitting a signal through a random access channel includes estimating a reverse channel status using a signal received through a forward link, determining whether to transmit a signal through a random access channel in consideration of the reverse channel status, and transmitting a signal through the random access channel when it is determined to transmit a signal through the random access channel.
Abstract:
A link quality reporting method and apparatus, and a carrier selection method and apparatus, for a multicarrier communication system utilizing carrier aggregation are disclosed. In the system, the user equipment measures, for each component carrier divided into a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) resource region and a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) resource region, link quality of the PDSCH resource region and the PDCCH resource region of the component carrier and sends measured link quality information as feedback information to the base station, and the base station adaptively selects a set of component carriers for control information transmission (i.e., a PDCCH Component Carrier (CC) SET) and a set of component carriers for data transmission (i.e., a DownLink (DL) CC SET) on the basis of the feedback information.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for a cluster-based power control at a macro base station in a wireless communication system are provided. The method includes broadcasting an interference allowance value determined based on a predefined aggregate interference to a femto cell, updating the interference allowance value with consideration of a channel activity for each femto cell group on a cluster basis, and when detecting a change in an aggregate interference generated due to femto cell power allocation, repeating determination of an interference allowance value so that a Quality of Service (QoS) of a macro cell user is met, and broadcasting the interference allowance value to a femto cell.
Abstract:
A method for feeding back Channel Quality Information (CQI) by a terminal in a Multi-User Multi-Input Multi-Output (MU-MIMO) communication system is provided. The method includes receiving a signal from a base station, determining a lower limit of an average Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) for the received signal, and determining the lower limit of an average SINR as CQI, and feeding back the CQI to the base station.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for transmitting and receiving control information in a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system are provided. A method of a base station for transmitting control information to a terminal in the MIMO system includes transmitting first control information for every transmission mode except for a Multiple-User (MU)-MIMO mode, to the terminal over a control channel of a subframe, and transmitting second control information for the MU-MIMO mode to the terminal over a data channel of the subframe.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving data in a multi-carrier mobile communication system are provided, in which a Mobile Station (MS) reports to a Base Station (BS) a number of Carrier Components (CCs) over which the MS can simultaneously receive data, receives from the BS monitoring CC set information indicating as many monitoring CCs as the reported number of CCs or fewer monitoring CCs than the reported number of CCs, and receives data based on the monitoring CCs indicated by the monitoring CC set information from the BS.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a Channel State Information-Reference Symbol (CSI-RS) in a relay network system are provided. The method for transmitting a CSI-RS in a relay network system includes selecting a subframe to transmit a CSI-RS, from DownLink (DL) subframes, transmitting, to a receive end, identifying information indicating that a CSI-RS is transmitted at the selected subframe, and transmitting a CSI-RS at the selected subframe.
Abstract:
A channel communication apparatus and method are provided for a CDMA communication system method for acquiring signals from multiple adjacent base stations by a terminal; for providing more efficient set management; for providing more efficient multipath acquisition and finger assignment; and for acquiring a signal sent from an adjacent base station and a multipath signal which can reduce power consumption and hardware complexity in the terminal. The apparatus and methods also accurately measure the power or time delay of a signal received from a base station by a terminal in a CDMA communication system.
Abstract:
A common power control channel transmission device for a base station in a CDMA communication system is provided having a selector for receiving power control commands to be transmitted to multiple subscribers and multiplexing the received power control commands; and a spreading modulator for spreading an output of the selector by multiplying the output of the selector by a spreading sequence. The common power control channel transmission device can be used to control power of a reverse link common channel. For the power control of the reverse link common channel, the base station receives a signal from a mobile station via the reverse link common channel, and transmits to the mobile station a power control command for controlling a transmission power of the reverse link common channel according to a measured strength of the received signal.
Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting an on-off keying signal in a CDMA mobile station device is disclosed. A first calculator receives an on-off keying signal and a reference signal transmitted from a base station transmitter at a given transmission power level, despreads the received on-off keying signal, and generates a symbol power level of the despread on-off keying signal. A second calculator despreads the reference signal and generates a power level of the despread reference signal. A multiplier generates a variable threshold value by multiplying the power level of the despread reference signal by a gain determined by a ratio of the transmission power of the reference signal from the base station transmitter to the transmission power of the on-off keying signal from the base station transmitter. A comparator compares the variable threshold value with the symbol power level of the despread on-off keying signal. Further, a symbol detector detects the symbol of the on-off keying signal by comparing a comparison value from the comparator with a prescribed threshold value.
