    Abstract: An exhaust-pressure-operated balloon catheter system which is a cross stream thrombectomy catheter, such as, but not limited to, an Angiojet® catheter with a flexible and expandable balloon, wherein the balloon is formed from and is continuous with the catheter tube which, in part, forms the cross stream thrombectomy catheter, wherein the balloon is deployable and expandable about the distal region of the cross stream thrombectomy catheter to act as an occluder device, and wherein the balloon is located proximal to the fluid jet emanator and inflow and outflow orifices upstream of ablative cross stream flows. The balloon is expandably deployed by the exhaust or back pressure created by the operation of the cross stream flows as generated by the fluid jets of the operating exhaust-pressure-operated balloon catheter system.

    Abstract: A multilayer valve subassembly (50) comprises an interface layer (60) having an interface layer flap (62, 64); a cover layer (70) having a cover layer flap (72, 74); and, an intermediate layer (80) positioned between the interface layer and the cover layer. The intermediate layer (80) has an intermediate layer flap (82, 84) essentially aligned with the interface layer flap and the cover layer flap. A first bond (102) adheres the cover layer (70) to the interface layer (60); a flap bond (92, 94) seals the interface layer flap (82, 84) between the cover layer flap (72, 74) and the interface layer flap (62, 64) and thereby forms a multilayer valve flap (52, 54) which is insulated from fluid which travels through the valve. In an example embodiment, the each of the interface layer flap, the cover layer flap, and the interface layer flap has a substantially U-shape. Preferably the interface layer is not in contact with the first bond or the second bond and has a size that permits the interface layer to float in a sandwich pocket formed between the interface layer and the cover layer.

    Abstract: A mechanism for adjusting the tilt angle of slats of a slat blind positioned between the panes of glass of a sealed window unit is described. The mechanism is sealed about an aperture through one of the panes and includes a flexible cable within a flexible tube extending from the mechanism to the control mechanism for the blind. The flexible tube maintains the window seal and the cable enables torque to be transmitted from the mechanism to the tilt control mechanism of the blind, thereby allowing direct external mechanical control of the tilt angle of the slats without breaking the hermetic seal for the window.

    Abstract: A stage of a pipeline data processor has a store associated with it, and when that stage requires to write data into a specified address within that store, but the data to be written is not yet available, an indication of the address is stored in a special reserved register, so as to permit subsequent accesses to the store without waiting for that data to become available. When the data eventually becomes available, it is written into the store, using the contents of the register for addressing the store. This prevents hold-ups in the pipeline and hence increases the effective rate of instruction execution.

    Abstract: Instructions are written in multi-word blocks into an instruction buffer from a slave store, and then scanned sequentially. The instruction buffer is unequally divided, a first part of a block being written into the smaller portion of the buffer during scanning of the larger portion, and the remainder of the block being written into the larger portion during scanning of the smaller portion. Thus, more time is available for an initial write from a block, which is when delays are more likely to occur due to the block having to be fetched from main store.
