The pixel electrode has a thickness in a range of between about 5 nm and about 20 nm. The common electrode has a thickness of between about 50 nm and about 200 nm.
Abstract:
An electron emission source and a field emission device using the same. The diamond-like carbon (DLC) film used as the electron emission source is featured by its film structures formed on the substrate surface arranged in a petal pattern. The height of the DLC flake is in micro scale and the thickness of the flake is in nano scale. The disclosed DLC flake film has a high aspect ratio. Hence, the DLC film has a good enhancing factor favorable for field emission, acting as a good electron-emitting source. In addition, the electron-emitting source material disclosed can be applied in a field emission display to act as a stable electron-emitting source.
Abstract:
An electron emission source and a field emission display device are disclosed. The electron emission source includes a substrate and an electron emission layer formed on the substrate. The electron emission layer includes a composition of diamond-like carbon (DLC) film structures. The height of the DLC flakes is in micrometer scale, and the thickness of the DLC flakes is in nanometer scale. Hence, the aspect ratio of the DLC film structures is high. Therefore, the DLC film can be used as a good electron emission source. A conductive layer can be optionally deposited on the surface of the substrate for further enhancing DLC film in electron emission.

The active matrix display is located in a portable microdisplay system that has a display computer that generates images to be displayed on the liquid crystal display and connected to the active matrix liquid crystal display. A data link transmits data at a rate of speed of greater than 200 Mbytes per second in series for at least a portion between the display computer and the active matrix liquid crystal display. In a preferred embodiment, the display system has a randomizing device that alternates the amplifier through which an analog video signal passes.

Abstract:
A method for manufacturing diamond-like carbon (DLC) film is disclosed. The method mainly includes steps of: (a) fixing a substrate in a reaction chamber; (b) pumping the pressure of the reaction chamber below 10−6 torr; (c) introducing at least a carbon-containing gas into the reaction chamber; and (d) depositing a diamond-like carbon film on the substrate by sputtering a graphite target. The deposited DLC film is in a shape of flakes. The appearance of the deposited DLC film on the surface of the substrate is in a rose-like shape. Moreover, the height of the deposited DLC film is of micrometer level, and the thickness of the deposited DLC film is of nanometer level. Since the aspect ratio of the deposited flake-shaped DLC film is high, the deposited DLC film can enhance the field emission.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses the fabrication of polymer-coated, coated fiber composites, hybrid composites and a method and apparatus for fabricating the same. The invention provides for the maximum spraying and coating of a roving of coated fibers with molten polymer streams without making physical contact with a solid media, thus simultaneously preventing the fiber surface from getting damaged and stripping off the coating. When metal-coated fiber is used the invention improves the electromagnetic shielding properties of any subsequent product made from the inventive composite. The method and apparatus of the present invention uses sets of nozzle-type sprayers having multiple orifices to enable the thermoplastic or thermoset polymer to penetrate more efficiently into the fiber bundle, thereby providing a more uniform coverage of all fibers. The hybrid composites can consist of two or more types of reinforcements and one or more type of matrix polymer.
