Abstract:
A computer system for locating real estate service providers by navigating an aerial image map of a geographic region. The system determines a search region corresponding to the geographic region by use of geospatial information associated with the geographic region. Once the search region is determined, the system searches a database for real estate service providers that are associated with the search region and that satisfy certain predetermined criteria.
Abstract:
A lathe tool rest including a light source for improving the illumination of the workpiece is described. The tool rest includes a vertical post having an upper end, a horizontal tool arm attached to the upper end of the post, and an LED illumination strip attached to the front side of the tool arm. The front side of the tool arm preferably includes a horizontal recess With the LED illumination strip being mounted within the recess.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for plasma-assisted processing multiple work pieces in a manufacturing line. In one embodiment, the method can include placing the work pieces in movable carriers, moving the carriers on a conveyor into an irradiation zone, flowing a gas into the irradiation zone, igniting the gas in the irradiation zone to form a plasma (e.g., by subjecting the gas to electromagnetic radiation in the presence of a plasma catalyst), sustaining the plasma for a period of time sufficient to at least partially plasma process at least one of the work pieces in the irradiation zone, and advancing the conveyor to move the at least one plasma-processed work piece out of the irradiation zone. Various types of plasma catalysts are also provided.
Abstract:
A method for making coated or uncoated paper that has small sized calcium carbonate on its surface. The calcium carbonate is placed on the paper web at the size press, by a spray or at a coating operation. The calcium carbonate can have a maximum mean average size of 200 nm. Another embodiment has a maximum mean average size of 100 nm. Another embodiment has a maximum mean average size of 50 nm. Different weight levels may be place on the paper.
Abstract:
A telecommunications system includes a telephone exchange and a customer services terminal whose input is connected to the telephone exchange, and whose plural outputs are individually connected to one of a plurality of telephone lines. A plurality of interface circuits within the customer services terminal are individually connected intermediate the input and one of the plural outputs. Self-test means provides for the testing of selected interface circuits. Loop-test means provides for the testing of selected telephone lines. A self-test relay is responsive to the self-test means and operates to disconnect the selected outputs from corresponding telephone lines as self-test conditions are applied to selected interface circuits as these interface circuits are disconnected from the selected telephone lines. The loop test means applies loop-test conditions to selected interface circuits, while the selected interface circuits and the corresponding outputs remain connected to the corresponding telephone lines. In either case, other interface circuits, outputs, and telephone lines that are not undergoing test remain operative to supply telecommunications services between the telephone exchange and these other telephone lines.
Abstract:
An electrical generating system in which exhaust steam from the turbine is recycled through the turbine to reduce feedwater requirements and condenser complexity. The turbine is an axial flow dual shaft compressor/turbine unit in which a coaxial shaft couples the turbine section to the compressor section. A portion of the energy extracted from the steam is used to power the generator and the remainer is used to power the compressor. The turbine exhaust steam is directed through compressor section and the compressed steam is then mixed with turbine inlet steam by a steam jet ejector. The compressor may be powered from either one or both shafts from the turbine.
Abstract:
A plurality of interconnected linkages are shown with a resilient clip-like member operatively connected to a first of the linkages and resiliently engaging another of the linkages so as to cause an abutment carried by the first linkage to be held in contact with the other linkage and thereby eliminate rattling noises as would otherwise occur between the first and the other linkage.
Abstract:
An apparatus and system are disclosed for automatic centrifugal engagement of a pressure plate. The apparatus includes a clutch basket, a clutch pack capable of coupling the clutch basket with a center clutch, a pressure plate axially moveable toward the clutch pack, and a top plate coupled to a rotating hub. The rotating hub is configured to pass through an opening in the pressure plate. The apparatus also includes at least one centrifugal actuating member disposed between the pressure plate and the top plate, and at least one spring disposed between the rotating hub and the center clutch to bias the pressure plate relative to the top plate. The system includes the apparatus and a rotating hub lifter coupled with the rotating hub and configured to position the rotating hub in one of a manual clutch mode position and an automatic clutch mode position
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to an apparatus to regulate and control the temperature of a differential axle assembly. A heat pipe is inserted though the axle housing with a portion submersed in a reservoir portion of the axle lubricant. Cooling fins are preferably disposed on the heat pipe both in the submersed region of the heat pipe and a portion external the housing. A temperatures sensitive valve provided to inhibit flow of the axle lubricant between a reservoir and the remaining portion of the axle housing.
