    Abstract: Disclosed is a hybrid composite construction material and a process for creating it. The substrate used to create the new hybrid material has the same compound applied on at least the side lap area on the top side of the substrate and at least a portion of the back side of the substrate. The substrate can be pre-saturated with a selected compound prior to applying the same compound on at least the side lap area on the top side of the substrate and at least a portion of the back side of the substrate. The processes to create the product and other embodiments is also disclosed.

    Abstract: An Methods and apparatuses for reducing the transmission of unwanted sound and vibration energy generated by dynamic and/or impact loads through floors in multi-story buildings. This may be accomplished using an acoustic wave transformation and attenuation sound proofing membrane including an acoustic wave transformation layer, an acoustic absorption layer, and a constrained vibration damping layer. The acoustic wave transformation layer may be capable of transforming acoustic waves in a manner that may easily be attenuated by the acoustic absorption and constrained vibration damping layers. The sound proofing membrane may be used with several different combinations of floor coverings, adhesives, and subfloors. Impact acoustical tests have demonstrated that the sound proofing membrane can achieve higher IIC and MC ratings compared to conventional acoustic underlayments and/or membranes and, thus, prevent unwanted dynamic and/or impact loads from disturbing occupants in rooms beneath the floor assembly.

    Abstract: The apparatus and process disclosed relates to the application of a pattern on a material such as roof covering or siding where the surface is coated with media to create a three dimensional pattern. The 3-D pattern is created in multiple detailed steps so that the width of the pattern can be of an adjustable size in order to make the pattern more diverse and variable. The apparatus and method disclosed herein utilizes a series of applicator units which apply media in a pattern or without a specific pattern onto the material. The first applicator unit is designed to be the master applicator unit. Each applicator unit can include a separate drive or motor. The apparatus and process disclosed incorporates one or more slave applicator units. These slave pattern applicator units with slave pattern applicator rolls are synchronized to the master pattern applicator roll located in the master applicator unit.
