Abstract: A method of monitoring cleaning of an apparatus for applying a coating medium to an object, the apparatus including a rotatable deflecting element for atomizing the coating medium; and a cleaning medium line for conducting a cleaning medium to the deflecting element; where the method including commanding performance of a cleaning operation including delivery of the cleaning medium through the cleaning medium line towards the deflecting element while rotating the deflecting element; collecting operational values of at least one operational parameter of the apparatus for the cleaning operation; comparing the operational values with reference values of the at least one operational parameter for the cleaning operation; and determining whether the cleaning operation was successful or unsuccessful based on the comparison. A method of cleaning an apparatus for applying a coating medium to an object is also provided.

Abstract: A method of determining a characteristic of a fluid in an apparatus for applying a coating medium to an object, the apparatus including a fluid line; an outlet; a first coating medium source; a second coating medium source; a cleaning medium source; and a valve arrangement configured to independently bring each of the first coating medium source, the second coating medium source and the cleaning medium source in communication with the outlet through the fluid line; where the method includes conducting a fluid through the fluid line, the fluid including the first coating medium, the second coating medium and/or the cleaning medium; sending ultrasonic waves to the fluid in the fluid line; sensing echo signals induced in the fluid by the ultrasonic waves; converting the echo signals to electronic response data; and determining a parameter value of at least one parameter of the fluid in the fluid line based on the electronic response data.

Abstract: A method of handling a gear pump, the gear pump including a driving gear wheel having a plurality of driving teeth and a driven gear wheel having a plurality of driven teeth meshing with the driving teeth, the method including controlling the gear pump in a testing mode including commanding driving of the gear pump to pump liquid towards a downstream device and commanding an increase of rotational speed of the gear pump; monitoring rotation values indicative of the rotational speeds during the testing mode; monitoring pressure values by means of at least a downstream pressure sensor during the testing mode, the downstream pressure sensor being arranged to measure a downstream pressure of the liquid between the gear pump and the downstream device; and determining at least one operational condition of the gear pump based on the pressure values and the rotation values.
