Abstract: A method of monitoring cleaning of an apparatus for applying a coating medium to an object, the apparatus including a rotatable deflecting element for atomizing the coating medium; and a cleaning medium line for conducting a cleaning medium to the deflecting element; where the method including commanding performance of a cleaning operation including delivery of the cleaning medium through the cleaning medium line towards the deflecting element while rotating the deflecting element; collecting operational values of at least one operational parameter of the apparatus for the cleaning operation; comparing the operational values with reference values of the at least one operational parameter for the cleaning operation; and determining whether the cleaning operation was successful or unsuccessful based on the comparison. A method of cleaning an apparatus for applying a coating medium to an object is also provided.

Abstract: A method of applying coating medium to a surface of an object, the method including applying coating medium to an inner region of the surface such that the coating medium on the inner region has an inner thickness; and applying coating medium to an outer region of the surface, adjacent to the inner region, to form an edge of the coating medium at a side of the outer region opposite to the inner region and such that the coating medium on the outer region has an outer thickness, wherein a minimum value of the outer thickness is 30% to 80% of the inner thickness, and wherein a maximum 10 value of the outer thickness is equal to or less than the inner thickness. A control system for controlling application of coating medium and a coating system for applying coating medium are also provided.

Abstract: A method of printing an image onto a surface using a printhead carried by a robot arm, including: obtaining an image which exceeds the predetermined print width of the printhead; splitting the image into at least two image strips, each contained within a reduced print width which is less than the predetermined print width, and generating associated printhead paths; detecting a deviation from the printhead paths when the robot arm is fed with a first control signal in a dry run; modifying the image strips to compensate the detected deviation by applying a local lateral shift; and printing the modified image strips onto the surface while the robot arm is fed with a control signal that is equivalent to the first control signal.
