Abstract:
A therapy system adapted to treat a patient's ventilatory instability using a ventilatory therapy, a gas modulation therapy, or both. The algorithm implemented by the therapy system monitors the ventilatory instability, such as Cheyne Stokes Respiration (CSR), mixed apneas, CPAP emergent apneas, and complex sleep disordered breathing (CSDB) and treats the ventilatory instability. The algorithm also determine a reference point with respect to the ventilatory instability. The therapy delivery system initiate the treatment based on the reference point.
Abstract:
A terminal assembly is provided for terminating a center conductor of a coaxial cable. The terminal assembly includes a terminal body having a pin at one end and a cavity at the other end for accommodating a center conductor therein. A contact member is supported within the cavity. The contact member includes plural inwardly directed cantilevered beams extending from a contact base for deflectable engagement with the inserted center conductor. The terminal body includes an inwardly directed shoulder for engagement with the beams at a location between the base and the distal ends of the beams. The location defines a deflection fulcrum at a location distal from the base so as to provide increased contact engagement force between the distal ends of the beams and the center conductor.
Abstract:
A surface-modified adsorbent and a process for making a surface-modified adsorbent are provided. The process involves providing an adsorbent and a non-volatile organic compound to a vessel, adjusting the temperature and/or pressure to provide supercritical conditions for a supercritical fluid, and introducing the supercritical fluid into the vessel. The supercritical fluid dissolves the non-volatile organic compound, and impregnates the adsorbent with the non-volatile organic compound. The surface-modified adsorbent can be used, for example, in cut filler compositions, cigarette filters, and smoking articles. Methods for making cigarette filters, cigarettes and for smoking a cigarette comprising the surface-modified adsorbent are also provided. The surface-modified adsorbents can be used to remove one or more selected components from mainstream smoke, without removing other components, such as those that contribute to flavor.
Abstract:
A coaxial cable connector and method that will direct the electromagnetic field carrying the electrical signal in a coaxial cable to the inner surface of a conductive layer of the foil of the cable, as opposed to the outer surface. With the electrical signals traveling on the inner surface of the foil conductive layer, the foil conductive layer serves as a contiguous gap-free shield to prevent the ingress and/or egress of RFI.
Abstract:
A coaxial cable connector for coupling a coaxial cable to a mating connector includes a connector body having a forward end and a rearward cable receiving end for receiving a cable. A nut is rotatably coupled to the forward end of the connector body. An annular post is disposed within the connector body, the annular post having a forward flanged base portion located adjacent a rearward portion of the nut. An annular notch is formed in the forward flanged base portion. A biasing element is retained in the annular notch, and the biasing element extends towards a forward end of the nut in an uncompressed state.

Abstract:
A patient interface device that includes a body portion comprising a pair of arms and a chin support. A first end portion of each arm in the pair of arms is coupled to an opposite end of the chin support. The chin support is adapted to be disposed under the mandible responsive to the patient interface device being donned by a user. At least one headgear attachment element is provided on each arm in the pair of arms. A circuit portion is provided at a second end portion of each arm in the pair of arm. A patient interface portion is coupled to the circuit portion.
Abstract:
A polymer coating/ring is employed to aid in the sealing and connection of modular elements used in body flow lumens for the exclusion and bypass of diseased regions of the flow lumen, such as where aneurysm occurs adjacent to branching blood vessels.
Abstract:
An interface appliance is configured to deliver a flow of fluid to the airway of a subject. The generation of the flow of fluid may be controlled to provide a therapeutic benefit to the subject. The interface appliance is configured to carry one or more sensors (24) configured to detect one or more parameters related to the flow of fluid on the subject. The one or more parameters may then be used to control the generation and/or delivery of the flow of fluid.
Abstract:
Provided are compositions comprising compounds or precursors to compounds which may be used for a variety of therapeutic applications including, for example, treating and/or preventing a disease or disorder related to reduced or inadequate mitochondrial activity, including aging or stress, diabetes, obesity, and neurodegenerative diseases. The compounds relate generally to urolithins and precursors thereof, including but not limited to ellagitannins and urolithin A. In certain embodiments the compositions are presented in or as food products or nutritional supplements. These same compounds and compositions can also be used advantageously in generally healthy individuals to increase or maintain metabolic rate, decrease percent body fat, increase or maintain muscle mass, manage body weight, improve or maintain mental performance (including memory), improve or maintain muscle performance, improve or maintain mood, and manage stress.
