Abstract: An apparatus is provided that includes an elongate body, a first connector, and a second connector. The first connector has a first axis and is configured to be repeatedly attached to and detached from a percutaneous implant of a bone conduction acoustic prosthesis system. The second connector has a second axis and is configured to be repeatedly attached to and detached from a component of the acoustic prosthesis system, the component external to the recipient. The first axis and the second axis are offset from one another along a first direction.

Abstract: An external portion of an auditory prosthesis includes an external magnet that interacts with an implanted magnet to hold the external portion against the skin of a recipient. A magnetic component can be disposed proximate either or both of the external magnet or implanted magnet to channel the magnetic field associated therewith. The magnetic component can be moved relative to its associated magnet so as to adjust the magnetic field, and thus, the retention force between the magnets.

Abstract: Presented herein are non-surgical or superficial coupling apparatuses for transcutaneous bone conduction devices. A coupling apparatus comprises a drive plate configured to be detachably connected to a transcutaneous bone conduction device. The drive plate is also connected to an earhook (ear hook) configured to fit over/around a recipient's pinna (auricle) to at least partially support the drive plate. An adhesive member may also be provided to secure the drive plate to the recipient's skin.

Abstract: Presented herein are non-surgical or superficial wearable bands for facilitating hearing. In one embodiment, a wearable band in accordance with embodiments presented herein comprises a frame that is shaped to be positioned around a head of a user. The wearable band further comprises at least one drive plate or adapter configured to be disposed around a section of the frame, wherein the adapter is configured to deliver vibration to the head of the user. A vibration isolation member is disposed between the frame and the adapter. The vibration isolation member is configured to isolate the frame from the vibration at the adapter.
