    Abstract: An optical biometric imaging device includes an image sensor having a plurality of photodetector pixels; a lens assembly having at least one lens configured to focus light reflected by a biometric object onto the image sensor; at least one light source arranged adjacent to the lens assembly and which emits light towards a sensing surface of the biometric imaging device. The at least one light source comprises a waveguide which vertical decouples light; a first linear polarizer arranged between the light source and the image sensor; and a ring-shaped second linear polarizer arranged over the light source to polarize light emitted by the light source in a direction away from the image sensor and having an opening which allows light reflected by a biometric object to reach the lens without being filtered by the second linear polarizer. At least one of the polarizers are rotatable.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for biometric authentication of a user of an electronic device comprising an optical fingerprint sensor arranged under an at least partially transparent display panel and configured to capture an image of an object located on an opposite side of the transparent display panel, the method comprises the steps of: illuminating the object with light of at least one distinguishable color; capturing at least two images of the object with an image sensor comprising a photodetector pixel array while illuminating the object with the light of at least one distinguishable color, wherein the images are captured for different applied forces by the object on the transparent display panel; and performing biometric authentication at least partly based on at least one relationship between the at least two images, the at least one relationship being related to a difference in pixel intensity from pixels in the photodetector pixel array arranged to detect light of the distinguishable color.

    Abstract: An enrollment assistance device, for facilitating biometric enrollment of a user of a smartcard including a biometric arrangement and a power and communication interface, the enrollment assistance device comprising: a carrier having a first side and a second side opposite the first side; and an electronic label comprising: a card interface portion including an electrically conducting structure; a power supply portion including an electrically conducting structure for receiving electric power from a power source; and electrical circuitry connecting the electrically conducting structure of the power supply portion with the electrically conducting structure of the card interface, wherein the electronic label is folded around an edge of the carrier in such a way that the card interface portion of the electronic label is attached to the first side of the carrier, and the power supply portion of the electronic label is attached to the second side of the carrier.
