    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a front cavity for receiving and rear cavity, a terminal assembly assembled in the rear cavity, and a ground member. The terminal assembly includes an upper terminal module, a lower terminal module sandwiching a shielding module therebetween. Said upper terminal module includes a pair of upper ground terminals. Said lower terminal module includes a plurality of lower ground terminals. Said shielding module includes metallic shielding plate. The ground member is associated with the shielding module to mechanically and electrically connect at least one of the upper ground terminals and the lower ground terminals with the shielding plate.

    Abstract: A connector unit includes a contact module received within an insulative housing. The contact module includes an upper contact unit and a lower contacts unit stacked with each other. Each of the upper contact unit and the lower contact unit includes a front/outer contact part and a rear/inner contact part each including plural contacts integrally formed with plural insulative transverse bars via insert-molding. The contacts include plural differential pair signal contacts and plural grounding contacts alternately arranged with each other along a transverse direction. Plural grounding bars are attached to corresponding transverse bars, respectively, wherein each grounding bar include plural tabs mechanically and electrically connecting to the corresponding grounding contacts. Each grounding bar is equipped with a plastic attachment tie bar to cooperate with a corresponding transverse bar to sandwich the grounding bar therebetween for securement.

    Abstract: A twin axial cable includes a pair of wires each with a core conductor; a first dielectric extruded around each of the core conductors, said pair of conductors with the first dielectrics being intimately side by side positioned with each other in a transverse direction; a second dielectric different form the first dielectric and extruded around the first dielectrics; a shielding layer enclosing the second dielectric; and a heat seal PET layer enclosing the shielding layer.     Abstract: A receptacle connector includes an insulative housing defining a base and a mating tongue extending from the base with a widen and thicken step structure formed around a root of the mating tongue near to the base, two rows of plate contacts disposed in the insulative housing with contacting sections exposed upon the mating tongue and in front of the step structure and categorized with signal contacts, power contacts and grounding contacts, and a metallic shielding plate disposed within a middle level of the mating tongue and occupying most portions of said mating tongue. The shielding plate defines a pair of immoveable and un-deflectable lateral edge sections in front of the step structure, each lateral edge section is configured to be adapted to be locked with a latch of a plug connector in a transverse direction.

    Abstract: A receptacle includes an insulating housing including a base and a mating tongue, upper contacts and lower contacts, a metallic shell and a shielding plate. The contacts include plate contacting sections exposed upon the mating tongue. The shielding plate is disposed in the mating tongue and the base and isolated from the upper and lower contacts. The metallic shell is retained on the base and surrounding the mating tongue to define a mating port which is inserted with a plug connector in either of two insertion orientations. The front sides of the shielding plate is exposed to the front side of the mating tongue and the lateral sides of the shielding plates is exposed to the corresponding lateral sides of the mating tongue for protection under an improper angular mating of the plug connector.

    Abstract: A twin axial or differential pair cable includes a pair of wires each with an core conductor enclosed in a primary insulator, an insulative inner tape as a secondary insulation spirally wrapping both the pair of wires, a shielding tape longitudinally wrapping the inner tape with an insulative inner layer and a conductive outer layer thereof, a drain wire positioned outside of the shielding tape and at the centerline between the pair of wires, and an insulative outer tape spirally wrapping both the shielding tape and the drain wire. One feature of the invention is to have a seam of the longitudinally wrapping shielding tape located opposite to the drain wire along the centerline in a vertical direction which is perpendicular to the transverse direction defined by two centers of the wires.
