Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing including a pair of side walls and a mating tongue located between the pair of side walls. Two sets of contacts are disposed at two opposite sides of the mating tongue, each set of contacts including plural differential-pair contacts and plural grounding contacts alternately arranged with each other along a transverse direction. A metallic ground bar is unitarily formed of a single piece and has a base connecting to the two sets of grounding contacts. A shielding member is secured to a center of the mating tongue and is electrically connected to the metallic ground bar.
