    Abstract: The technology disclosed herein enables redistribution of connections between service instances by determining a subset of the connections and terminating the subset. In a particular example, a method includes determining connection information about connections established with service instances operating in an active-active configuration. The connection information identifies directions of connection initiation for the connections and identifies peers for the connections. Based on the connection information, the method includes determining a subset of the connections for reestablishment on a per-peer basis using direction-dependent criteria and terminating the subset of the connections.

    Abstract: A method for sharing key identification (key ID) and public certificate data for access token verification comprises, at a network function (NF) repository function (NRF) including at least one processor, receiving, from a producer NF, an NF registration message including key ID version information. In response to detecting the key ID version information, sending, to the producer NF, an NF registration response message including a current key ID version value, at least one digital certificate, and at least one corresponding public key to the producer NF. The method further includes receiving, from the producer NF, an NF update message that includes the current key ID version value and in response to determining that the current key ID version value in the NF update message does not match an updated key ID version value maintained at the NRF, sending an NF update response message that the updated key ID version value, at least one updated digital certificate, and at least one corresponding updated public key to the producer NF.

    Abstract: A method for updating network function profiles in a telecommunications network includes registering, by a producer network function, a network function profile with a network function repository function (NRF), the network function profile specifying at least one serving scope or discoverable parameters by consumer NFs. The method includes determining that a load level of the producer network function has exceeded a first threshold. The method includes, in response to determining that the load level of the producer network function has exceeded the first threshold, updating the network function profile at the NRF to reduce the serving scope.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for processing binding requests in a telecommunications network. A method includes receiving, at a binding support function (BSF), a first request to create a first binding between a protocol data unit (PDU) session and a first policy and control function (PCF). The method includes creating, at the BSF, the first binding between the PDU session and the first PCF and storing, with the first binding, a first PCF session acceptance timestamp from a first header of the first request. The method includes receiving, at the BSF, a second request to create a second binding between the PDU session and a second PCF. The method includes determining, at the BSF, whether to accept or reject the second request based on a difference between the first PCF session acceptance timestamp and a second PCF session acceptance timestamp from a second header of the second request.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for identifying alternate delivery endpoints for mobile originated (MO) data and monitoring reports in a communications network are disclosed. One method includes establishing, by a network exposure function (NEF) in a communications network, priority rules in a priority configuration database that define routing priority indicators corresponding to a plurality of applications functions (AFs) and receiving, by the NEF, an service request or notification request message directed to one of the plurality of AFs from a consumer network function (NF) in the communications network. The method further includes accessing, by the NEF, a context database to validate context information associated with a destination AF belonging to the plurality of AFs. In response to determining that the destination AF is unavailable or is not in proximity to the NEF, the method further includes directing an event notification request message associated with the service request or notification request message to a prioritized AF specified in the priority configuration database, wherein the prioritized AF is a peer of the destination AF.

    Abstract: A method for enabling 5G transport quality of service (QoS) includes receiving a service discovery request from a consumer network function (NF) or service communications proxy (SCP). The method further includes accessing a 5G transport QoS policy database and determining that a 5G transport QoS policy applies to the service discovery request. The method further includes, in response to determining that a 5G transport QoS policy applies to the discovery request, generating a service discovery response message and inserting a network layer QoS value for implementing the policy in the service discovery response message. The method further includes transmitting the service discovery response message to the consumer NF or SCP.
