    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may receive one or more service data units (SDUs) at a layer two (L2) layer of the transmitting device. The transmitting device may encode, at the L2 layer, the one or more SDUs according to one or more network coding parameters to obtain at least one encoded protocol data unit (PDU), the one or more network coding parameters comprising a rateless code. The transmitting device may generate, for the at least one encoded PDU, at least one corresponding PDU header. The transmitting device may output the at least one encoded PDU and the at least one corresponding PDU header from the L2 layer to a lower layer of the transmitting device for transmission to one or more receiving devices.

    Abstract: In one aspect of the disclosure, a method of wireless communication performed by a receiving device includes receiving, from a transmitting device, a plurality of encoded packets each including at least one respective physical (PHY) layer symbol. The method includes decoding the plurality of encoded packets based on a raptor code to generate received data. The method also includes determining a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) associated with receiving the plurality of encoded packets, receiving an indication from the transmitting device, or determining a channel quality indicator (CQI) or a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) associated with receiving the plurality of encoded packets. The method further includes adaptively determining a PHY packet error rate associated with the plurality of encoded packets based on the SINR, the indication, the CQI, or the MCS.     Abstract: Port selection codebook enhancements are disclosed for spatial and frequency domain density (FDD) reciprocity. A base station may generate and signal a channel state information (CSI) report configuration including configuration of multiple CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) port groups, wherein each group includes one or more CSI-RS ports, and each group is associated with one or more codebook subset restrictions (CBSRs). Using the configured restrictions of the CBSRs, served user equipments (UEs) may determine linear combination coefficient feedback based on channel measurements of selected port groups and signals the feedback to the base station. Once the base station receives the feedback it may then determine a hybrid CSI-RS codebook using both the configured CSI-RS port groups and the linear combination coefficients. The base station may then transmit downlink data encoded with a precoding matrix selected from the codebook. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may transmit an encoded transmission via a broadcast to multiple user equipment (UE). Subsequently, the multiple UEs may transmit assistance information to the base station based on attempting to decode the broadcasted encoded transmission. If the decoding is unsuccessful for at least one UE, the base station may then transmit an additional encoded transmission via a unicast or multicast message to the UEs that were unsuccessful. Additionally, the base station may transmit configuration information for the multiple UEs to receive the encoded transmissions and to transmit the assistance information. For example, the configuration information may include portion information for how long the encoded transmission is transmitted via the broadcast, via the unicast, when to transmit the assistance information, etc. In some cases, the configuration information may be based on UE metrics of the multiple UEs.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication with a waveform configured according to probabilistic constellation shaping in connection with modulation. A wireless transmission device may determine a sequence of amplitude symbols from a sequence of information bits using a distribution matcher (DM) configured for probabilistic amplitude shaping. The device may further apply error correction coding to encode an information block corresponding to at least a portion of the sequence of amplitude symbols. And the device may generate a sequence of output symbols for transmission based on the encoded information block. In various examples, the device may apply interleaving to one or more of the sequence of amplitude symbols, the information block, the encoded information block, or a combination of the sequence of amplitude symbols and the encoded information block, for the generating of the sequence of output symbols. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
