Abstract: The systems and methods described herein provide techniques for improving asset download time using forward error correction to recover lost packets or data. In various implementations, a sending device may be configured to encode redundant data in a data stream that enables a receiving device to reconstruct the data in the file if a portion of the data is not received. The redundant data may be based on single parity, in which the redundant data is generated using XOR (similar to the RAID-5 encoding methods), or the redundant data may be based on dual parity, in which the redundant data is generated using Galois fields (similar to the RAID-6 encoding methods). In some embodiments, the redundant data may be transmitted in separate packets. In other embodiments, the redundant data may be included as part of the data stream.

The processor maps the codeword to 16 symbols of the non-uniform 16-symbol signal constellation on a 4-bit basis.

Abstract: A method for transmitting binary data using a M-ASK constellation divided into M/2 sets of two symbols is disclosed. Each set of index i comprises the ith and ith+M/2 symbols of the constellation and is associated with a probability pi of transmitting the first symbol of the set. First, m−1 bits are obtained from an equiprobable binary source where m=log2M. A binary source is then selected in a plurality of binary sources responsive to said m−1 bits, each binary source of index i being associated with a probability of outputting a bit zero equal to pi. A symbol of the M-ASK constellation is obtained that is associated with the binary word formed by the m−1 bits as less significant bits and a bit obtained from the selected source as most significant bit. The symbol is finally transmitted to a receiver over a communication channel.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently retransmitting radio link control (RLC) protocol data units (PDUs) to one or more UEs. When a user equipment (UE) fails to receive or decode an RLC PDU transmitted by a base station, the UE may transmit a status PDU to the base station indicating that the UE failed to receive or decode the RLC PDU. The base station may receive the status PDU from the UE, and the base station may generate a repair PDU that includes redundant bits of the lost PDU (e.g., the PDU that the UE failed to receive or decode). The base station may then transmit the repair PDU to the UE, and the UE may use the redundant bits in the repair PDU (e.g., in combination with buffered PDUs) to attempt to correctly decode the lost PDU.

Abstract: Various schemes pertaining to encoding and transmit power control for downsized trigger-based (TB) physical-layer protocol data unit (PPDU) transmissions in next-generation WLAN systems are described. A station (STA) receives a trigger frame indicating an allocated resource unit (RU) of a first size. The STA performs channel sensing responsive to receiving the trigger frame. In response to detecting at least one subchannel being busy from the channel sensing, the STA performs a downsized trigger-based (TB) transmission with a downsized RU or multi-RU (MRU) of a second size smaller than the first size by utilizing downsized RU or MRU allocation information while maintaining a value of each of one or more parameters unchanged in an encoding process to perform the downsized TB transmission.
