Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display device that can switch between the privacy mode and the public mode and achieve a high contrast ratio even during display in the privacy mode. The liquid crystal display panel includes: a liquid crystal panel; and a control circuit. The active matrix substrate sequentially includes a first substrate, a first electrode, a first insulating layer, and second electrodes each including a first linear electrode. The color filter substrate includes a second substrate, a black matrix, a color filter layer, a third electrode, and a fourth electrode which is disposed between the black matrix and the third electrode and to which constant voltage is applied. The third electrode includes second linear electrodes and overlaps a portion of the black matrix in a plan view. The control circuit switches between application of driving voltage and application of constant voltage to the third electrode.

Abstract: A display device includes a light blocking portion and a slit. A portion of an upper layer electrode overlapping a lower layer electrode is provided with a slit extending along a second direction inclined with respect to a first direction. An inclined portion extending along a third direction inclined toward the same side as the second direction with respect to the first direction is included in an end portion, of outer peripheral end portions of the light blocking portion, adjacent to the slit in the first direction. A second angle of the inclined portion that is an angle formed by the third direction with respect to the first direction is larger than a first angle that is an angle formed by the second direction with respect to the first direction.

Abstract: An active matrix substrate includes a substrate and a plurality of pixels located on the substrate. Each of the pixels includes an oxide semiconductor layer, a first insulator covering the oxide semiconductor layer, a first contact hole located at the first insulator, a first extraction electrode located on the first insulator and in the first contact hole, and connected to the oxide semiconductor layer, a second insulator covering the first extraction electrode, a second contact hole located at the second insulator, a second extraction electrode located on the second insulator and in the second contact hole, and connected to the first extraction electrode, and a pixel electrode connected to the second extraction electrode. The first and second extraction electrodes are light-transmissive, and a portion of a side surface of at least one of the first and second contact holes is not covered with the first and second extraction electrodes.

Abstract: The liquid crystal display device of the present invention includes an active matrix substrate including a first electrode, a first insulating layer, and second electrodes including a first linear electrode; a color filter substrate including a black matrix, a color filter layer, a third electrode including second linear electrodes, and a fourth electrode which is a floating electrode. The third electrode and the fourth electrode are disposed between the black matrix and the liquid crystal layer. The second linear electrodes extend in a second direction and each overlap a portion of the black matrix extending in the second direction. The fourth electrode is disposed between the second linear electrodes and overlaps the black matrix in a plan view. The control circuit switches between application of driving voltage and application of constant voltage to the third electrode.
