Abstract: Vacuum infusion of plant extracts in live probiotic cells significantly enhances the viability of probiotics during in vitro gastrointestinal digestion with the retention of their metabolic and antagonistic activities. In-vivo results validate the significantly enhanced persistence and mucoadhesion of probiotic cells with infused plant extracts.
