    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for modulating the resonant frequency of an optical resonator (1) in accordance with a periodic, not necessarily harmonic, modulation signal (Umod(t)). Fast modulation of an optical resonator is intended to be made possible in which the current resonant frequency follows the modulation signal (Umod(t)) as precisely as possible, and specifically at a fundamental frequency of the modulation signal in the kHz range. To do this, the invention proposes the following method steps:



    deriving an error signal (E(t)) from a light field circulating in the resonator (1), wherein the error signal (E(t)) indicates the deviation of the optical frequency of the light field from a target value,
    deriving a first actuating signal (S1(t)) from the error signal (E(t)) by means of a controller (6),
    generating a second actuating signal (S2(t)), which has actuating-signal components at one or more harmonics (fmod, 2fmod, . . . ) of the fundamental frequency (fmod) of the modulation signal (Umod(t)), and
    applying a superposition signal made up of the first and the second actuating signal (S1(t), S2(t)) to an actuator (3) that changes the optical path length of the resonator (1). In other words, the invention makes use of a combination of control and narrow-band feed-forward control tuned to the spectrum of the modulation signal (Umod(t)) and of the error signal (E(t)) to modulate the resonant frequency. Preferably, the feed-forward control used for generating the second actuating signal (S2(t)) is automatically adapted in accordance with the error signal (E(t)). In addition, the invention relates to an accordingly configured optical system.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for generating temporally spaced apart light pulses, comprising a first laser (11) which generates a first sequence (I) of light pulses at a first repetition rate, a second laser (12) which generates a second sequence (II) of light pulses at a second repetition rate, and at least one actuating member which influences the first repetition rate and/or the second repetition rate. It is an object of the invention to provide an apparatus for generating temporally spaced apart light pulses which is improved in relation to the prior art. This object is achieved by the invention by a control element (23) which applies a periodic modulation signal (24) to the actuating member for periodic variation of the first repetition rate and/or the second repetition rate, wherein the actuating member comprises a mechanical oscillator excited by the modulation signal (24), the deflection of said oscillator causing an adjustment in the resonator length of the first laser (11) and/or second laser (12), wherein the mechanical oscillator oscillates in resonant fashion at the frequency of the modulation signal (24). In accordance with the invention, an actuator (e.g. a piezo-actuator) which adjusts the resonator length of the laser is operated in resonant fashion. As a result, a large maximum time offset of the light-pulse sequences (I, II) with, at the same time, a high scanning speed is rendered possible.     Abstract: The invention relates to a device for generating temporally distant light pulses, said device comprising a first light source (51) generating a first sequence (I) of light pulses at a first repetition rate, and a second light source (52) generating a second sequence (II) of light pulses at a second repetition rate.     Abstract: The invention relates to a device for generating temporally spaced light pulses. Said device comprises a first light source which emits a first train of light pulses, a second light source which emits a second train of light pulses, and a phase-locked loop which regulates the relative phase of the light-pulse trains towards a target value. When the two light-pulse trains each pass through an optical transmission path to an application site that is spatially remote from the light sources, fluctuating phase differences in the light-pulse trains at the application site occur due to external influences along the transmission paths. The object of the invention is to provide an improved device for generating temporally spaced light pulses. In particular, the above-mentioned fluctuating phase differences are intended to be prevented. To do this, the invention proposes a detection apparatus that interacts with the phase-locked loop and detects a phase difference in the light-pulse trains at the application site caused by propagation-time differences along the transmission paths. In particular, the phase difference in the light-pulse trains at the application site is derived from light pulses that are reflected from the application site and pass through the transmission paths in the return direction. The detected phase difference can then be compensated for by the existing regulation of the relative phase of the light-pulse trains. In addition, the invention relates to a method for generating temporally spaced light pulses.
