    Abstract: A method and system for decoding a coded video sequence may include obtaining the coded video sequence, and decoding the coded video sequence. A a value of a temporal sublayer identifier of a video coding layer (VCL) network abstraction layer (NAL) unit in the coded video sequence is constrained to be less than or equal to a value of vps_max_sublayers_minus1, that specifies a maximum number of temporal sublayers that may be present in a layer in each coded video sequence referring to the video parameter set (VPS), in the VPS referred to by the VCL NAL unit.

    Abstract: In a method of video encoding in an encoder, a determination is made as to whether to encode a first scope of coded video data in a bitstream with a second coding tool. The second coding tool is an alternative coding tool to a first coding tool for Rice parameter derivation in residual coding. In response to a determination that the first scope of coded video data is not encoded with the second coding tool, a first syntax element is determined as a first value indicating that the second coding tool is disabled in the first scope of the coded video data and a video bitstream of the first scope of coded video data is encoded without invoking the second coding tool. The first syntax element is associated with the second coding tool.

The processing circuitry determines that profile information of a bitstream is indicative of a profile for operation range extension with a bitdepth higher than a predetermined value. Then, then the processing circuity checks at least a syntax element of the bitstream to determine whether the syntax element of the bitstream satisfies a constraint that is indicative of a single layer for outputting at a decoder for decoding the bitstream.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method, an apparatus, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for video decoding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry can decode, from a bitstream, pictures associated with views of respective layers in a coded video sequence (CVS). The processing circuitry is configured to determine, based on a first supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message and a second SEI message, positions of the views to be displayed in one dimension. The first SEI message includes scalability dimension information (SDI) and the second SEI message includes multiview view position (MVP) information. The processing circuitry is configured to display the decoded pictures based on the positions of the views in the one dimension.
