Abstract: A pleated filter media comprises a plurality of pleats comprised of pleat segments extending in an axial direction between first and second axial ends and extending in a transverse direction that is perpendicular to the axial direction between first and second sets of pleat tips at least partially defined by first and second sets of bend lines. Axial flow channels are defined between the pleat segments in the lateral direction and the plurality of pleats has a width in the transverse direction that varies along the axial direction.

Abstract: A microplastic filter (also referred herein as fluid filter) for a washing machine has a filter housing, a first filter screen, a second filter screen, an inlet opening 16, and an outlet opening. The inlet and outlet openings communicate with each other through the first filter screen to define a direction of fluid flow. The first filter chamber has a retentate outlet, is particularly easy to handle if the second filter screen is arranged in a cavity of the filter housing, the inlet and outlet openings communicate with each other through the second filter screen, and the retentate outlet is arranged on a side of the second filter screen that faces the fluid flow.

Abstract: An inside-out liquid purification system includes a housing and a cartridge. The housing defines an interior space and includes an inlet at a top side of the housing, a fitting at the top side of the housing and inboard of the inlet, and an outlet at a bottom side of the housing. The cartridge is disposed within the interior space and includes a top cap having an orifice and configured to interlock with the fitting to suspend the cartridge within the interior space, a bottom cap adjacent to and suspended above the bottom side, and a filter having an annular shape and extending between the top cap and the bottom cap with the filter defining a hollow vertical column aligned with the orifice such that liquid enters the cartridge vertically through the orifice and exits the cartridge at least partially radially through the filter.

Abstract: A filter device, particularly for filtering melt-type fluids, such as polymer melts, includes at least one filter disk having two filter disk halves connected to each other by their edges and provided with filter material on their exterior surfaces. The filter disk halves are held apart by a supporting device delimiting a substantially free hollow area between them, through which a fluid can flow freely. Inwardly, they delimit an outflow opening for the melt-type filtered fluid. The supporting device has individual supporting cams of substantially equal outer dimensions and arranged in several groups. Separated from each other, the supporting cams extend radially outwardly form the outflow opening, are rigidly connected to at least one of the two halves, and traverse the hollow area in such a way as to rest against the other filter disk half. This results in a filter device which is economical to produce and which has enhanced filter performance when in operation. It is suited particularly to filtering melt-type liquids, such as polymer melts, under high pressure.
