Abstract: A fire protection nozzle includes (A) a body having a flow passage for a fluid that flows through the body in an output direction, frame arms having proximal ends connected to an outlet orifice and distal ends, the frame arms defining a frame arm plane, and a junction formed by the distal ends of the frame arms at a distance from the outlet orifice, the junction including a central bore and an outer wall, and (B) a planar member deflector configured to be mounted to the body. The deflector includes a planar member having a plurality of slots on a periphery of the planar member that define a plurality of tines. The plurality of slots include at least first slots, second slots, third slots, and fourth slots.

Abstract: A nozzle for a filter cleaning system has a stub portion having an inlet opening and an outlet opening, and a splitter portion positioned downstream of the stub portion. The splitter portion has deflector surfaces arranged to direct the airflow exiting the stub portion outlet in 3 or more different/separate airstreams each of which airstreams are directed inclined axially outwardly from the axial direction of the airflow exiting the stub portion outlet opening. The various parameters of the splitter nozzle portion can be tailored to provide required jet shape and entrainment characteristics. A beneficial feature of the nozzle designs is that jet entrainment and recombination of flows can be specified for different shaped filters.

Abstract: A gas assisted spray nozzle assembly having a nozzle body in the form of a hollow tubular member, such as a single cylindrical pipe section, which defines a mixing zone and a downstream barrel extension zone. A liquid inlet and an impingement pin are supported by the tubular member in opposed relation to each other at the mixing zone, and a pressurized gas inlet is provided at an upstream end of the tubular member. An annular dispersion ring is fixedly supported within the tubular member downstream of the impingement pin for defining an annular ledge for directing a peripheral portion of pressurized gas stream and liquid atomized in the mixing zone radially inwardly for facilitating continued intermixing of the liquid and pressurized gas stream as they proceed through the barrel zone for discharge from the spray nozzle.

Abstract: A fire protection sprinkler is provided with a skipping shield having air flow passages therethrough to reduce the negative impact that the shield has on the thermal response of the sprinkler. By providing holes, slots, louvers, or mesh to the skipping shield, water from adjacent flowing sprinklers can still be blocked from impinging on the thermal element. The shield will block water but allow hot gas from the fire to flow through the shield thereby improving the response time of the thermal element.

Abstract: A water nozzle with a flow head is provided with at least two separate water supply devices that supply, in a controllable fashion, different water volume flows to the flow head. The flow head generates an annular jet from the different water volume flows. By controlling the water volume flows, alternatively a slim annular jet or a widened annular jet is generated by the flow head. A deflection element with a central outlet opening is provided, wherein the central outlet opening is arranged in a flow direction of the annular jet downstream of and spaced apart from the flow head. A deflection device surrounds the central outlet opening. A diameter of the central outlet opening is designed such that the slim annular jet is able to pass through the central outlet opening while the widened annular jet impacts on the deflection device surrounding the central outlet opening.

Abstract: An in-situ applicator for applying a composition in a pipe comprises a flow diverter configured to receive a composition and eject the composition from at least one outlet. The applicator also comprises a hollow conical body having a narrow end, a broad end, and an interior surface configured to receive the composition ejected from the flow diverter. The conical body also has a plurality of holes forming a band that wraps circumferentially around the conical body which defines a flow region on the interior surface between the band and the narrow end. The band includes first holes adjacent to the flow region where each of the first holes has a first average diameter and second holes disposed between the first holes and the broad end, each of the second holes having an average diameter greater than the first diameter.
