Abstract:
An improved process and apparatus are disclosed wherein the resin solution treatment of a web on a material treater is conducted by interactively adjusting the roll gaps of a reverse roll applicator in conjunction with applicator roll speed changes.
Abstract:
At the time of forming a paste layer on a substrate sheet by use of three rolls placed at right angles, in order to offset a variation amount of a first gap due to thermal expansion of the rolls, a variation amount in a given detection period is calculated by use of outputs of a first sensor configured to detect a coating film surface of a second-roll coating film of a second roll and a second sensor configured to detect a second-roll surface, and the first roll is moved by use of a first-roll moving mechanism.
Abstract:
The present application provides a chain-type roller coating apparatus, including a liquid coating roller and a synchronizing wheel. The synchronizing wheel is provided with a mounting hole. A proximity switch is arranged on an outer side of the synchronizing wheel. The synchronizing wheel is further provided with a trigger element which is configured to be sensed by the proximity switch. The liquid coating roller is assembled with the mounting hole of the synchronizing wheel by a connecting shaft. A shaft main body of the connecting shaft is equipped with a rotation support device configured to support a rotation of the shaft main body. The rotation support device is equipped with a first lifting driving device configured to drive the rotation support device to ascend or descend vertically. A ranging sensor is arranged exactly above the liquid coating roller.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for producing a web of corrugated cardboard comprising a first corrugating roller for producing a corrugated web. The device further has a glue application roller for applying glue to the corrugated web. The glue application roller is associated to the first corrugating roller so as to form a gap and is displaceable relative to the first corrugating roller in order to influence the glue application quantity. The device further comprises a displacement device for displacing the glue application roller relative to the first corrugating roller and a pressing device for pressing a laminating web against the corrugated web. It is further provided with a regulating device which is in signal connection with the displacement device, a gap regulating unit in order to adjust a gap width of the gap between the first corrugating roller and the glue application roller, and a contact force regulating unit in order to adjust a contact force applied to the first corrugating roller by the glue application roller.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method of coating and curing, including conveying a substantially flat substrate to be coated with a conveyor system through a combination roll coating and curing facility, wherein the combination roll coating and curing facility comprises at least one roll coating facility and at least one curing facility, roll coating the substantially flat substrate with a continuous sol gel coating material with the at least one roll coating facility, and curing the sol gel coating material on the substantially flat substrate with an air knife of the at least one curing facility, wherein the air knife is adapted to direct a heated stream of air to cure the continuous sol gel coating material while an interior of the substantially flat substrate remains at a temperature substantially lower than a temperature of air from the air knife.

Abstract:
A gluing apparatus for a corrugated board installation is provided with a fluted roller and a gluing station. The actual size of the glue spreading gap formed between the fluted roller and the glue spreading roller of the gluing station is adjustable to a desired size via a control unit and an adjustment drive.
Abstract:
A method of continuous coating of metallic strip material carried into practice by using a continuous strip coating device wherein the thickness of the coating is decided by a gap between a pickup roll and a thickness control member spaced apart a predetermined distance from the surface of the pickup roll. The method includes the step of (1) setting the pressure of the paint and/or the size of the gap based on the data obtained by preliminary experiments, or (2) directly measuring the gap between the surface of the pickup roll and the thickness control member and feeding back the measurement, to bring the actual size of the gap into agreement with the value set beforehand at all times.
Abstract:
In a coating system, two rollers are arranged adjacent to one another. A donor foil with rheological material dispensed thereon is advanced through a gap between the two rollers. Such gap spreads the dispensed material over the donor foil, coating the donor foil with a layer of the material with a uniform thickness associated with the gap width. Each roller is supported on a holder. Adjustment of the gap width may be effected by keeping the position of one of the holders fixed, while horizontally translating the position of the other holder. The position of the translatable holder may be adjusted by pistons and linear actuators. The pistons may bias the moveable holder towards the stationary holder. The linear actuators mounted on the moveable holder may extend respective arms against the stationary holder, thereby countering the biasing of the pistons and pushing the moveable holder away from the stationary holder.
